my only suggestion is to not do it. instead, use wav rips and then compress to mp3 if necessary. |
agree with you on that.. or alternatively avoid mp3's completely since no matter what bitrate they are in there still compressed and we all know compression=bad |

mp3 mixing: only with 320 kbps (but you have good quality with 256, too, the most of you won't hear the differrence, me not either)
otherwise use flac. it's uncompressed then but still the half as big as wav. :eyes:
all in all, digitalized music is never like the original, analog sound, not even on 192000er hz samplerate and 32 bit; thats a fact, if you study the music-digitalizing-theorie a bit. The funny thing is, that all analog vinyls are from a digitalized master; you do not master anymore directly on vinyl, so cd/vinyl/wav quality are all the same; only depending on what you play them.
:p (i'm mixing with mp3 too, i'd advise you to take traktor. It's a bit complicated at first, but after you will get the best mixes in your entire life. the only prob: i do the pitch-matching myself, but the most mp3djs let the computer make that; and in the version 3 you don't even have a pitchfader :(. but i use 2.6 so there's no problem, you can integrate final-scratch. It's not cheap, but.. :rolleyes:.
i just love the indipendet regulation of key/tempo, no other program does that with so high quality like traktor. |

| About the mp3 quality... does it really sound e when you play 192kb on a large system??? Does the crowd actually notice that the 18k frequency seems to be a little dull?? :p (bass freqs. between 192 and 320 are 99.9% the same, 192kb only shaves off a little hight end). |

| I use MixVibes 5 Pro, and have been doing so for 2 years now. They have since released a new version...6, but I don't want to pay an extra £150 when the one I'm using isn't broke! |

better than traktor? it's a question of what style you play.
trance->traktor
house&Hardstyle->Virtualdj
techno->mixvibes |

yesssss....
don't be satisfied with 192 or *my god* 128 buII.
it's less cheap but you get much better quality with 320. |
