are/is Astrix psytrance?

Any good?

They're alright, more the commercial side of psy.

yea they do produce psytrance .. i prefer their older stuff .. you could say they are a tad commercial .. but then i can think of far more commercial artists/producers than astrix .. and tbf alot of it for astrix could be misinterpreted support for producing decent tracks ..

fair enough, slinky have booked them so might give them a try.

It's just one guy, Avi Shmailov. Way too mainstream israeli full-on for my tastes these days, but his older stuff is quite enjoyable nonetheless, such as Eye To Eye.

Astrix is ing awesome! Most psy-trance records have good sounding elements but lack oomph. Astrix combines psy-trance elements with energetic uplifting baselines which works really well imo. He's also a very talented guy :)

I highly recomend getting his 'Psychedelic Academy' mix cd or his latest album 'Artcore'. Both are very good! :toocool: :tongue2

although having said that all, for people not totally into or accustomed to the psy sound, stuff like on artcore etc is easy listening, and a good platform on which to build psy knowledge.

psy academy is a poor cd! full of commercial tracks .. how else would such a monstresity as Sub6 feat Michele Adamson - "Ra He Ya" get on it? psy trance with vocals? disgusting ..

ok so that particular track is cheesy, but the rest is ace. Psy-trance is a very underground scene and I don't think anyone could call even the most club friendly of tracks commercial. I'm not expecting any Ian Van Dahl/Lasgo psy tracks anytime soon.

Those two words go together like Tom, Dick and Harry.

Ste
Astrix is definatly easy to listen to if you are new to psy, which isn't a bad thing and sometimes is refreshing instead of a lot of the same blip blop that comes out these days (with regards to more full on stuff).
