Hi guys, i am counting on you for this one as you've always been great help in the past.
My problem is this
I have 2 hard drives
main is SATA and the other one was on IDE channel 1 (primary)
i had data on the IDE hard drive, and today i put in another IDE drive as a slave under that one, yes i did all the pins correctly and all that. However when i turned on the computer, it saw both drives as unformated!!!
i freaked out as i have tons of ESSENTIAL data   :whip: :whip: on my IDE 1, so now i took out the second IDE and made it all in the original setup..in other words
My main SATA is normal obviously, where windows is installed
and my IDE i had,,is still being viewwed as unformated! i did not format it! and when i start up the computer, it always recognized new IDE drive, but sais installation not successful because it is not meant for this platform..?
my question is...how do i get my data back!? / how can i view the files again?
i repeat i did not format the drive , the only thing i did is name the partition! aka give it a name.. G:/
etc..
HELP PLEASE!
thank you! |

Is your computer plugged in correctly?
Try restarting it. |

if you dont need what is on the second drive, you can boot with both IDEs.
The first IDE (g: ) is where your essential files are.
The Second IDE (h: ) is the second drive that started this mess.
Install a disk recovery utility (I reccomend R-Studio or R-Undelete) onto your SATA. Use the program to recover everything it can from G: to H:. You're then free to format G while using H to see what you can recover. You may not get everything back. I'm not sure why this happened to you.
There may be other solutions, so I wouldn't rush to try this |

tribu, thanks for the help, and thanks for the link, im getting the demo now to try this,
you're right the G:/ has the important files on it, i took the second one out, so now its only the SATA and the IDE |
