So yeah I started a new track and just wondering what you guys think about the sounds and all that stuff. I'm posting here because I want different opinions and views than just the Music Producers part of the forum.

First off, the snare roll at the beginning is a bit hackneyed and old school. Not that this is necessarily bad, but will decrease your chances with labels. Second off, your saw is a bit weak- it sounds software to me. Your kick doesn't bite through the mix like it should, but your other percs are good (though you might should add some some complexity/layering). I like the bass, and the melody is simple but does its job. Obviously this is an incomplete product but you might want to add some more FX variation to the final product. There is definite potential here, however.

Thanks a lot I appreciate the comment :) Yeah I feel the snare is pretty ugly, but it'll change in a few. I think the saw is just too far in the background so I'll edit that easily with loosening the reverb. If I had better monitors, I could definitely produce better mixes but oh well. The kick I will definitely change because I didn't notice that it was so weak. Thanks though

Yeah im with armani on this as well. I've been having problems like your kick not punching through the mix. Try layering and have a punchy kick on top while having a sub kick below it. Also your saw lead ..the reverb drowns out the sound..should fix that up.

i've heard the clip... i think you can spice it up with more percs running in the background... the saw is not working at it's best here (try layer it with detuned sawtooths), i'd suggest u reinforce it with a saw pad... i've tried it and i think it's working good for me. i'm sorry, i can't give more comments cuz i'm away from home so i don't have the speakers... i'm stuck with a sucky 1-sided earphone at office

yeah sure no problem tripudio. Thanks for the comments guys. I decided I'd change up the saw and all that other good business so it sounds more full. I fixed the volume on the bassline because I felt it was overpowering the kick. That's just poor eqing on my part though because I don't have good studio monitors.
