==============================================
LOVE has been built to provide a place where artists are encouraged to push the boundaries of their craft and to promote shared values of respect, acceptance, and peacefulness through the stories they tell.
It is dedicated to the idea that the differences among us should be celebrated, but that our shared humanity, in the end, unites us as one. Our goal is to make the world a little more interesting and a little gentler.
And to throw great parties...

Pete Bones!
huge fan of his productions. Caught him live in London two years ago and he blew the roof off the place. Can't wait to see what he brings to that system. |

This week we have a special guest who has made several travels to NYC and has been rocking NYC rooms for years. If you were at Pacha on December 30th for Steve Lawler there is a good chance that you were there to witness an amazing closing set that was all the buzz on message boards the week following that party. The closing dj for that night at Pacha and our special guest this week is none other than Pete "Shaker" Bones!!
Biography for Pete "Shaker" Bones (Hooj, Perfecto, Red Ant, UK)
With over 15 years as a dj and producer, Pete Bones is a true underground legend. Constantly evolving, and reinventing his sound, he has always stayed one step ahead of the pack. He began djing in 1988, as acid house and everything that came with it, swept across southern England. Along with 2 mates, an old van and a very basic sound rig, Pete would drive 4 or 5 hours every weekend, playing in old warehouses and deserted barns, to crowds both big and small.
Pete was handed his first residencies in the early 90's at the Cross and at Mass in London, along with his infamous Tuesday night gig in Surrey, the busiest mid week night in the UK at the time. As his audience started to grow, his reputation started to spread across the whole country.
Pete started his first record label (Ugly Bug) in 1992 and he recorded a string of club anthems under the guise of 'The Shaker'. He was quickly snapped up by XL Recordings, who signed 3 of his singles. Remix work started flooding in, including mixes for the Utah Saints, INXS, Angie Brown and Zee, and for labels such as Hooj, London, Fresh, and Perfecto.
At this point his DJ career started to really take off as he was regularly invited to play guest dj spots at Amnesia in Ibiza, E-Werk in Berlin, and Groovejet and Firestone in the US. Faced with a difficult choice, in 1997 Pete decided to stay true to the underground, killing off Ugly Bug and starting a new label. Pete's new label was called 'Red Ant' and with it he pushed his sound into darker, more specialised territories.
With the success of his new label, accompanied by his past accomplishments, Pete became a very sought after dj. He was finding himself flying around the world constantly, playing in far reaches of the globe such as Thailand, S.Africa, Poland, Mexico, Dublin, all over the US, and of course England. He has held residencies at New York's sublime 'Touch' parties at Centrofly, Snatch in Tampa Fl. and Spundae in L.A., along with small, 'word of mouth' only shindigs, up and down the US, and all over Europe.
Red Ant is now a widely respected label, both critically and commercially, and is set for its 60th release early this year. Pete continues to keep himself under the radar to a certain degree. He has recently toured with the legendary US industrial band "the Thrill Kill Kult" and has released a number of cds, one featuring old TKK material, remixed by some of the top current, and best upcoming producers in the underground house scene.
Pete's sound has been described by many, with descriptions as far afield as 'electrofunk', 'funky techno', and 'tech house'...When asked to describe his own sound, Pete just shrugs his shoulders and replies, " I dunno, I guess its just cutting edge underground dance music..."
