V-Station vs. Z3TA (pg. 2)

Don't know if you should choose between either one of them... Most synths are known for their more 'popular' sounds, though most of them also have a broader sound spectrum you'll get to know only over time.

As someone mentioned above, V-Station could be good for basslines and Zeta for leads, though you could just as easily use them the other way around.

I have to agree about the CPU usage though, be aware that you need a good, solid system to be able to load up on some Zeta's. V-Station is much more lighter in this regard.

Well, I may have to get both then! :D

I recently wiped all the crap off my system and did a clean installation of XP. My PC's relatively new and with the RAM upgrade I have planned there shouldn't be any problems, I hope.

btw Wim, excellent music you're making these days! Are you still a faithful FL user, or have you moved on now?

:(..most of my friends are doing the switchover to cubase..i feel lonely using FL studios lol

Zeta > V station

it hurts your CPU, but if your using FL you can buy directwave and that problem would be solved. you just gotta make sure the synth is how you want it before putting it in directwave i spose.

zeta can do anything, FX Leads Pads and basses.

Thanks!

Still fully faithful FL Studio user - been there from early 3, now at version 6.0.8...

I have never seen ANY reason to change honestly :)

You've done well, mate. Good work.

I bought Cubase a year or so ago but didn't enjoy working with it so I got rid. The fact that FL is VST compatible ensures it's survival when people start to enter the professional realm + it's darn fun to work with even if you're not in a serious kind of mood. :D

I use both synths heavily for uplifting trance, but the thing that kills me about V-Station is it only has a low-pass filter. If it had other filter types I'd use the V-Station a lot more than I do.
Dj Pyster
Agreed, I think V-station would be very interesting with a HPF, or even a BPF on it.

Hmmm, I use both Z3TA+ and V-Station, and I'm in love with both of them, Z3TA gives you more versatility and open mindness, you can get very creative with Z3TA but before that, you gotta spend 6 months learning all the tweaking possibilities it offers.
There are a lots of free sound banks offered at patch arena, which you can use for your compositions and also as a reference or starting point for your own presets.
The only Con I see on Z3TA+, is that it is such a CPU Hog!, but that wouldn't be a problem if you have a great computer.

V-Station is just so easy to learn, and the leads and bass sounds you can come up with it are limitless.
But between these two, Z3TA+ wins it for me.

This is just my opinion, but having both, I totally would go with Z3TA. Granted I haven't used the latest version of V-Station, but the patch libraries with Z3TA are incredibly diverse and within minutes of browsing through them and hearing what the synth can do, I think you'll be pleasantly satisfied.

V-Station. Love it, amazing synth!

V-station is my choice. In my opinion it sounds more like hardware than zeta.
To hear what its capable of listen to the synthation patches demo.
