Louisiana Tech University's Internet is So Great!

So I go to the best public school in the state.
We have an internationally renowned engineering program.
We are the only school in the world that offers a degree in Nanosystems Engineering.
Alma Mater of Terry Bradshaw and Karl Malone and the guy that invented the Segway.
Seems pretty great, huh? It is.. except for the ing internet.
Our president gets a university bus (one of those big charter busses) to take him from his house to the football stadium on gamedays(it's not even an eighth of a mile walk) yet the school's network is throttled to be slow as short bus kids. I swear to god it's slower than 14.4 in the middle of the day.
You'd think being a school with good academics, a lot of money (currently building a 55 million dollar biomedical engineering building), they'd cut the president's salary a little bit and let us have internet that serves a ing purpose. With my luck, I'll get a 404 page when I try to post this.. :whip: :mad:

| that sucks man... the internet here is golden. both UW-Madison and my school, UW-Milwaukee do hosting for source forge and my school has over 100 campus-wide wireless hotspots. in the middle of the day i took a bandwidth test and it was 18mbit. even the city of milwaukee is building a city-wide high speed wireless network. :wtf: |

jesus christ.. both of you.. that's awesome..
see, if i get on aim or something and send a file to a person on campus it'll go at at least 3 mb/s. it's only when you connect to sites/people (i'm no good with computer terminology) that it's slow as balls. i just don't get it and it's definitely not cool. |
