Visiting Miami-Need Help

Hi,
Me and my boyfriend are coming to Miami on March 22nd and we were wondering where to book a hotel... We have 2 in mind and we would like to know how safe is the area around these hotels...Also, how convenient it is to get around with the car? Is it far to go downtown
1- Golden Glades Inn Conf Center-16500 NW 2nd Ave
2- Ocean Breeze Motel- 6600 Collins Ave
If you know some hotel that is affordable somewhere around Ocean Drive and Collins Avenue in South Beach, please let us know. Any places that we must see?
Whatever is there to know about Miami, please share...
