Hey guys,
my current stylus is totally worn out and I am thinking of buying a entire new cartridge. Which are the best cartridges and styluses out there??? I don't do a lot of scratching, but sometimes i do some backspins.
Can u help me out?

From my experience, Ortofon have proved to be the best quality.

Well, as long as i have been spinning (only a few months) the best cartridges i have used have been
Shure M44-7 Competition Scratch
Granted they are made more for turntablism than trance, they pump out a quality sound, and i have yet to get my mix jacked. they have ultra low record wear styluses, which i find very nice. anyways, hope you find some good ones. :D

| i use stanton Diskmasters. AMAZING!! But I use the headshell and cart in one, not the seperate cart. I strongly recomend them, amazing traction, even for scratching, and great sound quality. |

Ortofons without a single doubt. Get the dj's (the blue ones) if you can afford them (the NC's are a bit of overkill if you don't run a club).
The M44-7 are almost unskippable (that's why they are the turntablists standard), very high output, but personally I prefer the sound of Ortofons (little bit smoother).
As for Stanton, well don't like them very much :D |
