Canada's ex-prime ministers in reality TV gig By Etan Vlessing
Thu Jan 26, 3:58 AM ET
TORONTO (Hollywood Reporter) - As Canada's Prime Minister-elect Stephen Harper basks in his election victory, four of his predecessors are set to become judges in a reality TV show called "The Next Great Prime Minister."
Canadian broadcaster CTV on Wednesday unveiled plans for the show, which will premiere February 4. Five young Canadians will endure public speaking and debate challenges to transform themselves into a possible national leader. The prize includes an internship in a Canadian public policy think tank.
TV reality shows have long depended on stage veterans like pop stars, supermodels and actors for celebrity judges. But this format will see former prime ministers Kim Campbell, Joe Clark, Brian Mulroney and John Turner passing judgment.

We're doing a fine job of producing crappy tv shows on our own thank you very much. We don't need you trying to compete with us. |

Whatever, at least it's trying to mold intelligent people and not crank out dumber than dog bubblegum pop stars a la American Idol.
And hopefully it will raise some political awareness because I'm a big nerd and I think that's a good thing. |

They've been involved in politics for a long time so they know how the system works. |

Exactly... American TV is sickening. From MTV to Bachelor to Big Brother to Jerry Springer... they strive to dumb the population down. Seems to be working.. have you seen today's youth thse days??? (ugh I must be getting old to make a statement like that)... lol :stongue:
I'd be curious to see this show... interesting concept. |

I once tutored a girl who said that her dad was Kim Campbell's campaign manager.
I nearly fell off my chair trying to restrain the laughter.
I had to excuse myself from the room for a bit to clear my head. |
