I know i am home early, but need to save the energy for johan
totally unplanned, started evening with winterlisous and bymark (incredible food and service - would recommend to anybody)
decided to meet some friends at TIL, got there - huge lines ,but moved fairly quickly - i think the regular line was moving faster than the guest list line, we only waited 20 mins after arriving at 10:30 or so.
cool club, excellent decorations, and excellent ambience (ive never been to TIL before)
brad copeland - meh
but deepdish were incredible - great music, very upbeat, definatly could have stayed a little longer if i wasnt so pooped from driving from ohio earlier that day.
club was way too packed though, it was shoulder to shoulder / moshing, not my idea of fun, you could hardly dance. but im sure towards the early AM it will clear up.
i espescially enjoyed the large statue to lean on when tired and getting bumped around
also the junkie xl remix of that coldplay song (i think) was killer, loved it!
thats about it, off to bed to get sleep for JOHAN!!!!! |

Well, after all those TOTA worries of dress code and "21+" etc, they didn't bother really enforcing either! In fact they didn't even check my ID, nor spend time assessing my "trendiness."
The club was ing RAMMED from the get-go! Couldn't dance properly till 5am. However, with the toonage Deep Dish were delivering this was easily overlooked. Banging house music that was pretty much impossible not to dance to... :eyespop:
The only real problem with the night was certain portions of the crowd... lot's of "night at the roxbury" types who were clearly there to either pose, stand around, or annoy people by pushing back and forth through the dance floor! (A classic guvernment trait.)
This type of event was a big change for TiL, and I think all things considering it was an excellent opening night. There are certaintly some kinks to be worked out, but overall the night was great! :D |

SO yeah the line got to me i never made it in :( i got there at liek 10:15 and the line was huge, so i ask were the guestlist line is and ppl tell me it's around the building, i waited in the guestlist line witch moved 30 feet from 10:15-12 and i coulden't stand it anymore. (sorry Kelly) .... this is were my sketchy mission begun for the night(and it showed i'm from out of town) I sugested to go to Footwork so we walk down adalaide to 425 adalaide west and see the numbers go over 430 and no club so we call 411 and they say it's at 425 but no direction, so were like must be 425 east me and my freinds ponder what to do in toronot on a friday night some brave soul sugest comfort Zone and after being frozen inline for almost 2 hours Zone seemed like a good idea... we take a cab there and we find out that on fridays it don't open till after 4am so we jump back in another cab and get him to take us to 425 Adalaide East to continue our search of Footwork, still can't find the bloody as there is nothing around there, so we take a cab back to 425 west and i finaly have enough comon sense to ask someone if they know were it is.Bouncers were my 1st choice and the nice guy points our totaly lost asses in the right direction, Footwork on a friday was fun great music Addy n Dekoze but something was a lil off all the guys in the bar were really freindly ;) ;)
So yeah that's my review of Deep DISH @ this is london, Hope that everyone who made it in had a great time and gets a laugh out of my stupidity and sketchy mission:) Next event @ that place i'm gonna have to leave at like 7pm and be the fist guy inline |

I'll recap this party bullet point style...
- liam is annoying as whilst drunk
- the club was beautiful
- Copeland seemed right at home for his residency, killer warmup.
- Sharam for the first two hours was spectacular, the rest gets a big meh from me
- they kicked us out just after 6, wtf
- lisa loo is funny ha ha
- Nada actually will kick anyone's ass at a danceoff. lol
- Steve without a hat is teh funny
Overall standings, great party. I'd put it in 8/10 range based on it's "new factor" and Sharam's first two hours which were mindblowing...
- Say Hello
- "Infatuation"
- Annie Lennox "I've Got a Life" (Sander's Remix)
- Coldplay "Talk"
- Deep Dish - Dreams |
Whatever happened to "dinner & a movie"? :stongue:
Looks like I won't be regretting staying home last night. ;) |
