In my opinion, I think he has further evolved his sound- it's definately moved far from the Fundacion album. He has taken a sharp turn into harder material.
Personally, I thought Friday was phenominal. It was a dark, evil-sounding, technical (think diggers style high-frequencies), set with the driving basslines that Sasha is known for. His usual dreamy melodic sound was tuned down significantly. He also threw in the electro style that john has been pumping over the past year... I couldn't stop dancing for a second- not even a bathroom break!
However, the grand majority of TA opinions were the opposite- many even ventured to say it was the worst Sasha set they've ever heard in their life.
The only person that I can speak for is myself, so to each his own, but if you're into the S&D tag-team style, I think you'll too enjoy the 'new new dj sasha'. |
didn't you just describe the same style that he's been playing for a year plus now? when's the last time you saw him live before friday? |

no, it's a lot darker. last time i saw him before friday was august... or was it september? i don't remember. i saw him 5 times last year.
don't get me wrong, it's not a massively far cry from what he was playing last summer, but it is def significantly different. less on the mids, more on the high and low frequencies.
clovis- i agree, sasha is always new... a matter of semantics!
orko- i'm huge into his '03 sound too, maybe my fav sasha year |

| I really liked his involver and fundacion sounds. However if he plays something like what Moshic plays, that would be superb aswell. |

well that's cool. i just remember last time he was here he played pretty dark and twisted...it was fantastic!
anyway, we'll be seeing him in a couple weeks so i'm interested to hear a difference maybe... |
