What  ?! Anjuna is a label with wide variety I love them for their progressive trance (So does markus schulz, his sets usually have the most anjunabeats out of most people who are not on the label). You should checkout some of his LIVE sets and count the anjuna tracks :D |

Didn't forget but here goes...
Was just a random idea to go to mexico, but this probaby was the perfect chance to go, 1st week of school no hw, my friend also wanted to come and best person to go to mexico with...woody! So yea, I pick up my friend from glendale go down to woodys pad, then leave my car then we go down to carls jr (fill up my tank). After that we head down I-5. As we pass san diego probably around 8pm I can see a ton of hills with lights. Woody says that is all TJ, woah! This one area had massive radio towers that would really shine bright, looked extremely trippy. So we get to the border, park the car and walk across. For those who have played half-life 2...This is probably where they got the 1st scene. It seemed like I was walking into city 17 because of all the self locking gates and police in the area. Just like the civil protection, except the police didnt beat me :wtf: . Once all the gates were passed, ah yes the smell of TJ! Can't forget that. At the end of this passage was an armada of Taxi drivers waiting for people like us, right away we get in one and woody tells him to go to the plaza. This is the secret spot as woody called at and wow what a place! We get off the taxi and I hear live music, we walk into a group of buildings and I could see alot of couples as well as people selling stuff, then woody points out in one of the bars at the speakers. EAW!!! :eyespop: Damn what a place, next we go into one of these bars and we get carded, my friend who looks pretty young had a bit of trouble, but we managed to use the native tongue to our advantage. Damn, at the bar probably some of the sexiest women I've seen...this place was so packed! Just walk around for a second and then we go to another bar, wow now this one was like a resturant/bar and woody pops open a corna. This place had a dj booth and we go check it out...if i remember correctly they were numark dual cd players, but none the less looked like the crowd was somewhat enjoying it, mostly chatting. Woody told me that it was really early, things are dead till about 12 am then it gets really lively....grr guess we were out of luck. Then we leave the plaza and go find another cab. This cab takes us to club Tangaloo, which seriouslly was like in the middle of the ghetto (bad 1st impression)
Club Tangaloo and DESYN
So we get out of the cab and we walk toward the entrance, no line, walk in pay 20 bucks, get an ID check, wrist band and damn...already inside. Once inside I was shocked, it was super clean, the sound was really good and it was HUGE!! At first you need to walk up stairs to see the dancefloor, but my god once I saw it I knew this was going to be a great night! We sit down at a table (Alot of these as well) and get some drinks (yes I dont drink so I got some water ). I don't know who the 1st dj was but he was pretty good at getting people down there. Alot of very cute girls in the area too, not too many dancing though. So we head down to the dancefloor and about two songs into the set I recognize a track: Bush II Bush - Piano Track (Remix), really great opener track got me moving. Then comes on the 2nd dj, as woody called him "Mario"...Man this guy was so good, his set was just a non-stop banging grooving set! About half way through the set, I see something out of the corner of my eye and its BAS! :wtf: wow, always great to see him and his enthusiastic self. Now the dancefloor is pretty packed, I find myself not IDing any tunes, but having a blast! The place was so nice, plasma TV's, a tropical theme, not stuffy (except one thing), lighting was great, sound was amazing, vibe was badass! Sorry LA, I think we need to follow this example of what a great club should be! Then Desyn gets on the decks, wow the crowd goes crazy!! Mario and his extremely hot GF come down to the dancefloor as well (By this time I have no idea where woody is) Desyn starts the set extremely proggy but keeps the vibe really well, for about an hour or so. About 2 hrs into his set, my friend and I take break and go chill at one of the tables, we noticed that people here dance alone or with the people that they come with, wasn't that LA interaction, everyone wore sunglasses, and smoked (yea that was it). After a nice refreshing mexican water bottle (forgot the name, but it was good) back to the dancefloor. Then about 5 songs into the set, I a badass tune! Lifelike & Kris Menace - Discopolis (Original). Damn thats where it went off for me!! I think alot of people have never seen someone so enthusiastic about a track, but damn was it good! I was jumping and yelling! Desyn really brought it up for a while after that. I think about 12 tracks later he dropped Freeform Five - No More Conversations (Mylo Remix) then I see woody and bas do what I did earlier, just go all out! Wow, I was surrounded by some really cool people and dancing to some great music, a very great vibe! About 5 tracks later, we decide to leave, it was about 4 am already. This is probably the worst part of the night, we step out and a little girl probably at the age of 6 or 7 asks us if we wanted to buy gum :( . We catch a cab then head straight for the border. Once at the border, woody somehow was able to pretty much streamline through everyone and end up at the front in the matter of like 20 minutes!! I hated waiting inline with all the drunk people because it reminded me of getting food in high school, just a bunch of morons caged up. Ah, back on american soil! couldnt have felt better, now we had to walk to the car and get back home! at about 7 am we reach woody's place and just knock the f*ck out! Well deserved sleep! Thanks again woody for making this possible, I had a damn blast! |
