Cristian Fuentes- Viento Azul (Progressive Trance) 192kb
View this Thread in Original format
Kris Xperiment
I recently took up producing again, I tend to take about3 weeks of breaks sometimes because I just can't find the inspiration lately. But I kind of forced this one out (No toilet humor pun intended).
Anyways, it's a little more progressive than I've had to work with in the past. Your feedback would be appreciated because I wan't to get on with it and start making refinements.

Nice sine riff.
I like the sidechained pad.
The bass should have more space.
The pad should have more layers, more sweeping/reso at the buttom.
You should have more elements in the break, try a breakbeat or more percs.
The plucked sounds kinda cheap.
The sound itself I mean, if you'll get a better guitar sample it may work.
It's a nice track, but it should have more variation.
It kinda bores me after a while.

6.7/10,
Omer.

ok, listening...

nice pads/strings, though i don't like the way you sidechained them. good percussion.
that noise sound is cool. sines are great.
bass is quite simple, but sounds good.
nice atmosphere overall.

i like it.
Speactra
I like this track! :tongue2
The sidechained strings is good.
I like the sine's.
Nothing wrong with the guitar.
Nice break.
Great melodies.

You may raise the attack on the synth that comes in at 5:28, it clicks and is very annoying.
I think that it is the bassy synth that starts at 1:09... It clicks in different sections...

Overall good! :)

Keep it up!

Thank you drow for your constructive criticism, these are the kind of things that help one improve. You have really good advice, Speactra I appreciate your comments and your compliments on the sines. You know what, I head the clicks,

Dj sphere thank you for your criticism also, I think the sidechain mightve just been for my own practice but thanks. I loved your Trance Addict Producers mix.

I enjoyed listening to this track! Very well done.

One thing, to my ears, the pad between 2:00-3:00 sounded a touch too loud. Same as 3:37-4:17, a bit overwhelmingly loud. Maybe your compressor did that?

Otherwise great work.

Ok I've been thinking a bit, so I'll be able to suggest new things to improve the track.
Ditch the current pad sound, make a lighter pad, something that will be on the background, around it make a sweeping pad that will lead the track.
It will contribute to the atmosphere that you kinda have but it's not there yet.
Try to experiment with stabs and congas/bongos/shakers/toms to get more drive to the track.
Something that will make the track more rythmatic.
Try to have a second bass layer that will give a nice rythem with the percs. The one you have will be more melodic, it'll follow the pads.
Vary the notes on the sines.
Replace the guitar thing with another synth, not a guitar.
In the break add a guitar line and keep it to the break only.
Make only one break, don't make 'hands in the air' one.
I imagine the track much more energetic but still chilled.
Add another riff to the build down to make things more interesting and to let everything climax.
Don't use the sines in the climax so it won't bore the listener to hear the same thing over and over.
Try to get some vocal hook, no lyrics, something that will add atmosphere. Proccess it and play with it.
Panned delay and reverb are the way to go.

Tru dat Kopi!

Here we go.

-Nice intro, cool bongos, try to variate it a bit though.

-Bass is beautiful, always a quality of you.

-Guitar is pretty beautiful.

-Melodic like always, loving it.

-Great FX and pads, tell me how tomake those pads on MSN pwweeze!

-Lovely progression, makes me want to sing, makes me want to stand in the winds and let the music take me over...

-Theres some minor clipping within the song, I can't point out exactly what, but its there.

-Jeez, once again on the melody. ING delicious.

Great job! Loving it!

-William

Nice track man,

the precussion bongo sound may need a little more delay to kinda bounce all around,

but otherwise, the melody is hot, and so is the breakdown.

thanx for reviewing my track!!!:happy2:
