yeah, go on with the deal and mail him something else that weighs the same, like a fake speaker made out of, say, a box and lots of metal, with little cartoon drawings of a treble and subwoofer.

Dont do it same thing happened when i was trying to sell my car. He was from Arfica and was offering WAY more money than the car was worth and told me he would send me a check to cash and I should deposit it and send the rest of the funds to him western union. I beleive it was a money laundering scam or something to that extend.
Then he said someone would pick up the car and fly it over to Africa.
He also send me some phony bussiness information.

Tell him to send you a certified cashier's check. Cash it and tell him his check's in the mail, then never e-mail him again.

And I get a reply pretty fast from someone, so I wrote him and then he wrote me back for a second time. He writes:

Hello ,
Thanks for getting back to me,As i said earlier that am based in west africa and i want to buy the Speaker from you.i want to inform you that i have a client in the united state who is owing me $3260, i will instruct him to issue a cashier's check to you in the amount is owing me and as soon as the check clears your bank you will deduct your $350 from it and you will send me my balance,

Note,i will like you to send me my balance via western union money transfer and i want you to know that i will be using part of my balance to arrange for the pickup of the items.Get back to me with your contact information so that i can forward it to my client to issue the cashier's check to you without any delay.

Get back to me as soon as you get my e-mail.so that we can round things up in a timely fashion..iwill be trusting in this business transaction.
Thanks in this regards

Is it just me or does this sound out of the ordinary? Has anyone ever been approached with something like this? It just screams fraud to me. Any input on this matter would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Jeez, people still react to this??? I thought this scam was older than "Numa Numa" clip. :nervous:

Oh boy... on the other hand, if you send me your address, social security, full name, mother's maiden name, your date of birth - I'll send you a pair of brand new nike shoes.:tongue3

you sounds good, but is unfortunate that the only way i can pay for the Speaker is to instruct my client who is owing me money to issue a cashier's check to you in the amount is owing me.and as soon as you get the check cashed you will deduct your money and you will send me my balance via western union money transfer so that i can quickly arrange for the pickup of the Speaker and some other necessary things. if you are still interested in seliing the Speaker to me just get back to me with your full name and address so that i can quickly forward it to my client for payment processing. Note i will forward my contact information to you as soon as you receive the check and immediately the check cleared you will send me my balance via western union money transfer.get back me .

I'm gonna send him that link EMC posted. And then go from there. Haha! Wonder if he'll reply after that...
