| OK now I've had myne for about 5 years and its getting discolored, I knew this was going to happen, I want to know what's the end product when you get the tatoo redone, does it look the same or do the lines go bigger? I'm interested in retracing it so the colors look like new again, any experiences? |

haha - judging by what the author said, it's a bit late for that!
I've had my tattoo for nearly 6 years and its still as good as new. It's a fairly simple one though...I guess discolouring and loss of clarity in lines would make more difference to a really intricate tattoo. |

depends on ur tatoo reconstructer...if the guy knows what he's doing then he could make it look as if it was new.
My friend had a colored dragon tatoo on his arm for 3 years, the colors started to fade, then he got it redone and it looks great, like a totally new tatoo...lines doesnt look any thicker or anything.
colored tatoos suck though...heh you have to get them recolored every few years no matter what...thats why all my tat's are pure black. |

| Isn't 5 years really soon for black ink to fade? Is it significantly faded? Has the ink actually bled out creating a blurred line or is it just faded? Where is the tattoo? I know that high sun exposure can increase fading times. |

| its in the middle of my back between the shoulder blades (not sure if that's the name of thos bones) I was thinking that the ink might be part of it cause the black is turning kind of grenish in hue, I don't tan (I hate it) but I sometimes go out in the sun, always wear a tshirt, so I wouldn't know... |

it depends on
a) how good your tattoo guy is
b) what color it is
ive had my right arm tattooed for about 5 years and it has every color in the rainbow...still looks good. if youre in the los angeles/orange county area go to classic tattoo in downtown fullerton. |

LOL, too bad I'm in Guatemala hehe, thanx for the info anyway...
By the way are there any good way to ask about inks to know if they're good or buy yourself the ink so you know its good. |

I love my tattoo! It's very small and hardly anyone ever sees it, but it reminds me that I have my own mind and I dont have to do anything my parents (or anybody) tells me unless I want to:p |
