The other problem is if im on unemployment does that mean I can't make use of my company health insurance anymore? all-nite-freak Depending on your collective insurance policy you have, sometimes the employer has an accord with the insurance company to be able to make an advance on the insurance payout until the claim is processed.Considering your circonstances, I cant see why your employer would refuse to do this.Talk to someone in your human resources dept.Unemployment will pay you less and take much longer to receive.Plus i dont think you want the government involved with your health issues.They can be real dicks and not take into account the human factor when dealing with people.
