oh yea, hard trance that i think does a good job of expressing Maastricht at 4 am... i don't really like that lazer like effect you got in there, but i do like the hard-synth-style and overall arrangements :)
thanks for sharing... |

you again takkra!
you cant totally nag at any new track of mine any soon ;) my windows totally crashed, need a new comp and dl samples and get synth progs etc :eyes: and i just got a super cool idea, rammstein inspired :D well enough of me, your tune is dling.. 60%.. dead time ;) but i am listening to that great psy tune gr8ape made.. 70% hmm.. gr8apes tune still.. actually this is the second time :). 80%... soon 90! 90%..
it would be fun to tear your work apart ;P. kiddin..
well here we go, the intro with the clippy(?) bassline starts and something has to much reverb for me.. unless your going for that, i hear stuff that sounds alot like pjotr g's maybe just a coincidence.
the atmosphere hasnt became real dark yet, hope it gets there. cool sounds you are using here takkra. that drum thingy in the break sounds darn cool, some bongo drumish stuffies ;D. now you used the sounds in a better, tekkier way, i like it this way, darker.. but that darn phaze/laser thing makes the track sounds cheery.
second break now, your cool as hell drum thing comes in and then a pretty darn cool plucked melody (it seems) comes in but fades out again. didnt fit in darn good with the rest i think. and that bloody f**king fazer again! dude ^^. track faded out and this time you use alot of wicked sound, and that fazer (>.<) (yes im really angry with it ;) ) something cool for this track would be something acidic or tribalistic, pretty dark too.. thoughts at the end you now, the outro was good and intro so, track was really good except that LASER! reversed crashes at the end, fun :). this is definatly dancable :). keep on going man your improving. |

Fatness
The first thing that comes into my mind when I hear the intro is that this track is probably going to lead to a massive build up. Percs are really original, and they're so genuine they put dead in the middle of a jungle. The stabs that follow the song are simply catchy and really abstract. True experimental. If I weren't safe in my house, I think I'd hear this song in my head while getting chased by tarzan or a bunch of tigers. The beat really makes the song rollright along. During the 1:53 mark, those beautiful stabs come in again. A thumping beat rules as king of the dancefloor with it's massive booms. Bassline sounds really catchy, short quick and snappy lines and leads. Although the zapping sound compliment the song really well, they simply get a little to repetitive after a while. At 3:32 a second break comes in, and it would be and understatement to say that it's good. The melody simply steals the show for a second, great panning effect. The gated lead is vital to the songs atmosphere, but as many may agree with me, introducing another melody to the song would have been nice, the same pattern of the gated effect gets monotonous, that is until the gate start ascending in pitch, from there on it truly raises energy in the club.
GOOD
Amazing energy
Superior atmosphere (george of the jungle) :wtf:
Great break and gates
Thumping Beats
Experimental goodness
NEEDS ATTENTION
Same gated sound tends to become a little too repetitive
The laser synths would be wonderful if they we're variated, instead of using the same one often
Perhaps some more fx, jungle sound perhaps? This song just screams wilderness if you ask me.
IN THE END
Great piece of work, complex beats, immense drive, cool atmosphere.
Peak hour energy right here. Sure to please any fan of Sander van Doorn's work.
Keep it up :)

omg... :D!! thanks everyone for the quality reviews:eyespop:
first of all, weird that nobody liked the laser effect..tooo bad. it fills a gap of the groove :(.. anyway 1st thing ill replace ;)!
coming up:
-bye bye laser :p!
-more tribal percs.. god I like those :p!
-ill try to do something about the gated melody for making it less repetitive.. but I still havent got a clue what :p
-think im gonna lengthen the "break plucked melody part" for another 32..

right then rico. here is my opinion.
firstly the track has a nice name.
up to the 4:12 mark really hard trancy but progressive at the same time. reminded me of yves deruyter actually.
now, from 4;12 it gets really bangin! big and full. loads of drive. and very epic. i love it at 7;00.
things that put me off a little:- i think the bass synth needs some reverb so it sounds bigger and more epic. and i didnt think the melodic synth in the break suited the track.
other than that the track has come a long way and carries the usual originla sound of takkra.
definately your best ive heared so far.
good work mate:) |

hi richard :) thanks for listening and reviewing my track :)!
I think its indeed the best Ive done so far :) good idea to give the bass some reverb.. never tried that :p!!
and well.. the melodic synth is a part of a "story" behind the track ;).. Im keeping that:)..
glad you recognise my takkra sound rich!
love ya :D!! hehehe
(Link's not broken dj sphere.. just click on the text until the new window opens.. youll see ;))
eheh2 dj cola.. I know how you feel.. I had really cool ideas when I was in the middle of the testweek.. and you know what I did :p?
I sang the melody and the rythm into my mobile phone as a ringtone LOL! I didnt forget the melody tho ;)!! it works, try it;)! |

listening.....
too much reverb on the percusion i think
fx's are cool
bass is nice, sounds good with the kick
i don't like the clap
the saw after the first break is really energetic
like the puck in the second break. again too much reverb on the percs i think
nice track overall, like it.
still needs adjustment.
keep it up! :) |
