Meh, I don't know, I've always dug Sasha more than any of the big trance jocks, and I'm certainly not a zabs whore at all at the moment... I just think I've realized that I get bored with trance/prog trance a lot faster than I get bored with anything else, and it's been that way for a long time, I just wasn't smart enough/familiar enough with the scene to find what I really dug, and kind of just latched onto the Trance bandwagon for a while, because I did like a lot of it back in the day, and just had that as my frame of reference for years...
i'm not denying liking anything, but I do think my taste has become more refined and I'm more easily able to pick out tracks that bored me almost immediately after hearing them or that I know simply aren't all that well produced (For any number of reasons, too repetitive, poor mastering, or even simply not my style), so in that sense, I think it's perfectly apt for me to express a changed opinion without being accused of being a "bandwagon" jumper or hyocrit for that matter... |

I like Sasha/JZ cause I like the tracks they play and how the play them. Cause they both actually know how to beatmatch records, and pull off sick mixes.
And yes you can move on from cheese trance and realise its production is poor, simplistic and uninspiring. I still like alot of the cheese I used to listen to (No One On earth?) but it doesnt do it for me like the stuff I listen to now.

i used to curse digweed and all house and prog. i used to swear up and down that i would never ever like that but alas, i can't listen to too much trance anymore and house is all there is. and the most annoying thing was that people told me that it was going to happen and i cursed them too.
plus, i'm sure there are much more embarassing things that could happen to you. |

For the record, I will say beyond a shadow of a doubt that I have NEVER liked Tiesto as a DJ, and my distaste for his sets (even where the mixing/programming is by all accounts good) has been long lived... Similar story for PVD...
I was an Oakey/Armin/Ferry whore... And I'm still a whore for Ferry... :) |
