RAVING(where to learn and its relation to trance music)

I noticed that raving is not discussed to much on this site. Where I am from, trance music and raving go hand in hand. If you want to separate yourself from clubgoyers that listen to house music and crap like that, you need to learn how to rave. Now I have a few questions:
None of my friends know how to rave, so is there a way I can learn how to rave?
Also, are trance music and raving that interelated?(At times if im at a party or at home, and im listening to trance, dancing does not always do it for me. I feel like I need to get up and start raving...but I don't know how to) |

Learn to rave?!?!
Ok buddy, you live in the Rave capital of North America... Go check out clubs like Sound Factory, Twilo, Exit, Limelight.... and see what people do there.... basicly raving is being high on dance drugs like E and G...
so my advice is go to Twilo on friday... buy one pill of E... take it and see how it goes |

Ok sorry, but that is CRAP, Some One ->
raving = "being high on dance drugs like E and G..." hmmm I don't think so.
Being high on dance drugs like E and G = being high on dance drugs like E and G, yeah that's true.
Since when does going hard at a rave, getting into the music and not caring what the people think about you (as compared with clubbing - trying hard, getting into the liquor and hoping nobody thinks you look stoopid) depend solely on drugs?
Raving is just that enjoying a rave without posers looking down on ya, without caring what the happens apart from having a good time - some ppl use drugs to have a better time - more power to them! But it is not essential. I would prob go to a rave maybe once every couple months (big 5 day camping event over New Years went off!!) and go hard til the early hours (10am is my best) without drugs. Sure I could go longer with them, but hey at least I can get straight to sleep when I get home :D |

raving is being high on drugs?? ok that is so obnoxious man.. first of all i wouldn't consider raving to exist IN north america, if anything, i would associate raves with goa.. and secondly, even if i were to associate raves with the currently scene, north america would definitely not come anywhere NEAR the top..
the drugs aspect of it is so stupid, well not stupid.. but so many dumb kids going around "ohhh hey i just had 3 E's, i'm a hardcore raver" cough cough... sure..
i'm not saying that everyone ISN"t a raver.. but most people who think they are, are just ignorant..
there.. voiced my opinion.. =) |

Alright... Just because North America sucks and has no raves because our government constantly tries to shut them down doesn't mean that ravers aren't here and people that rave with glowsticks (like myself and many other people from NA on this site i'm sure) are considdered "ravers." I guess this term applies differently to where you live in the world but I mean raving to the music is fun as hell without drugs. Nobody said you had to be on drugs to have a good time while raving. It's not about that man... not at all. |

You're the reason why governments are trying to ban raves from society. Think and make a decission about what's more important: the music or being 'cool' cuz you did E...

NYC is definitely not the rave capital of north america, in fact the clubs u mentioned are not really rave clubs and seeing that trance just got popular here(jonathan peters who has always scoffed at trance now plays it), i don't think u can say that NYC is the capital of raves in north america. On the other hand house music still reigns supreme here(unfortunately) and yes Twilo has good names but its still nothing compared to Trance energy or sensation.

Yeah, sounds logical to me... Twilo is a club right?
You can't compare a club with a rave. |

exactly no comparison...the one place that NY does dominate is lounges, which are upscale bars, we have more than anyone...i think

OK listen everybody, Im not some ing retard that takes E to be "cool" no, if go to a rave or an after hours I avoid taking any kind of drugs at all cost's. The reason im telling him to try E or G is because i remember when i went to my first after hours club... which was basicly my second club experiance, I was sitting there not knowing what the hell is going on and why are people moving glowsticks in different directions and crap like that, the second time me and my friend went there we took 1 E each, even though i wanted to take 1/2. and after that I understood what it was all about. That was more then a year ago, and for the Total time, I only did E 2 times, the first time, and then i did 1/2 another time. More then a year has passed, and I still go raving, and after hours clubbing, and I DO NOT take any drugs, and most of the time my friends ask me what I'm on, and I tell them that I did not take anything and they would not believe me. Now If I would go into the raving scene without trying out E, i would of never liked it, and i would of never liked trance, and the general rave music. So somehow i can say that drugs do help people (in moderate amounts) all i needed was 1 pill.
All Im saying is if u wana see what it is, u gotta try E, im in no way encouragin the use of drugs, because i myself do not want to be around people who are on drugs.

everyone needs too chill out and ease up with the anti drug thing...E's in moderation can be fantastic, as long as u respect the drug u can have the time of your life... i'm sorry this will probably affend a few but if u think trance music ain't design for gettin high on u need a wake up call... if u were tru trance lovers u wud be more chilled out... i enjoy trance when on an E and when not on one... but there is a huge difference in what u get from both experiences... i don't think it makes me sound tough because i take drugs ... i just think u only live once ... it! experiment with E but never stop respectin it, and u will be fine....so yes u can have a good time at a rave without drugs, however it can enhance the experience, but my advice is never take E if u dont feel comfortable with it, meaning dont just take coz your friends are, take it because u want too... (i'm not out too affend anyone and im sorry if it does)peaces
laterz n respect2all;)
