Songs for the masses

Scenario: Me being the DJ at a frat party (yes, flame me now)

Problem: I am not a fan of hip hop and crap that is played at many parties and bars across the US especially in college party atmospheres. I am working on converting the crowds at the parties I play into a more trance-type atmosphere and less music. My problem is finding tracks that can appeal to the masses, not being too 'trancy' while still walking the fine line of not playing cheesy commercial garbage. If anyone has any good recommendations it would be much appreciated. (Songs with good vocals (Lost Witness, Lange, etc) are good too because I cant count the number of times I get bitched at by stupid girls who ask me to play something with words.) I know I'll get flamed for being a 'Fratty Boy' (;)) but I just want to start getting people listening to good music and enjoying a good party.

Biohazard
System F - Cry
Delerium feat Sarah McLachlan - Silence (Airscape mix) <-- people like this one allot, although its totall e IMO, tiesto oe is better :)
Io - Rapture (Riva Mix)
Lost Witness - Seven Colors (Angelic mix)

I probably should've made that post more specific.
I know basically all the vocal crap like that, I was more wondering on just good dance beats that aren't too trancy and aren't too commercial. Like for instance Peran van Dijk - Good Time.
Time2Burn
Soundlovers - Living in your head
(always reminds me of some trashy club - way too catchy stays in my head for ing days!)

Discovery - Missing
remakes of well known songs are always good to please diverse audiences.

Kim Wilde - Loved
has that commercialness yet tranciness to it.

Sarah McLachlan - Silence (Tiesto Mix)
These days this song can be played anywhere

hope that works.. peace
SpaZmawookie
angelic - its my turn

First: My respect to you, man, for being such an innovator! ;)
It's hard to be a DJ in America and spin quality music.

Second: I recommend stuff by Blank & Jones ('Beyond Time', 'Nightfly'), it's very melodic and danceable - yet NOT commercial. Also how about Yahel?

Tracks remixed or done by Above & Beyond ..

light, uplifting n i managed to convinced a few pple to our faith in trance using their tracks.

spin Above & Beyond , den dropped a few track classics in the middle ..

might work ..

Thanks for all the replies guys. So far I've had pretty good success with Blank & Jones, especially Nightclubbing (Wippenberg) and After Love (Signum), Any remix of Silence is well recieved because of its commercial popularity of late, Airscape mixes (I can't wait to try out Ultra - Free (Airscape) on the drinking crowd, around here they'd probably love it). Above and Beyond mixes of Aurora - Ordinary World and Madonna - What It Feels Like For A Girl have also been well recieved. (I have refused to play Sandstorm on several occasions, solely out of principle :D) Fortunately over semester break I've had nothing to do so I sit on TA all day and I've got a list of 200+ songs (on top of my library of 800) that I need to check out now. Hopefully I'll find some bangin' tunes out of the bunch and blow it up.

(and yes, I am a CD-DJ, as of late I've been far too poor to afford decks and a mixer and graduate to Vinyl, but I'm hoping to ASAP)
