Why do I produce? Because I like it :D
Even when I was quite young I was messing around with a twin tape deck I had, blending songs into each other, sound bytes etc... mimicking radio commercials etc...
I find music technology interesting and fun and music itself can be extremely emotive and also fun.
I wonder sometimes if I would still be interested in trance if I didn't produce it as well. :rolleyes: |

Same me :)
There's no reason I "chose" to start producing, it just sorta happened naturally.
I come from a home where there was sound on practically all the time.
My dad is a "sound mixer" in Film and TV production and I have instructed from him a lot about sound and music.

Why do I make music:
Because I can
Because I like it!
It's an outlet for all those crazy melodies and rhythms that build up inside my head :p
I'm a gearfreak
I like the music
But the number one reason are the sounds. It's not just the music that I love, it's the actual sounds that I like! Some people say I have crossed neuro receptors, others say I'm just crazy :p, but each sound gives me a feeling, and each rhythm puts me in a certain mood :) I can sit in front of my computer and play pad sounds on my keyboard for hours, just listening to the filter sweeps and individual harmonics of the sound :D |

I just feel that I have to create something on my own. I have tried many different things like drawing and programming....
I have found music be to be my thing to do.
And then it's always a great feeling when you have produced something. |

why did I start? well I dont think I know? I just loved electronic music and the feelinmg it could give people...I wanted to know how that was done and I wanted to do it too.
Why do I do it now? I have no idea...it just makes me happy sometimes. |

| It's just a good way to let out creative energy. Before I discovered production, I used to design maps and mods for FPS games (UT, UT2k4, Jedi Knight series), before that I'd draw things or write stories. So even if no one ever listened to my tracks or even if I was absurdly horrible at it, I'd still do it. |

to be honest mate i couldn't agree more... give me synth to play and im off for hours... morphing the sounds creating new sensations... it dont get much better than that... |

I am just fascinated by computers, I've tried all diffferent kinds of things to satisfy this urge. I really want to do something with computers that people will appreciate. I've tried alot of diferent things, 3d, programs, embedded, and of course making noise. This production stuff is really just one of the many things I like to do with this machine, it just blows my mind what a person can do simply from manipulating numbers really fast.
It is alot of fun for me, always trying to learn more an do more with computers. I just do everything I can, taking classes, reading stuff, and fooling around until I stumble upon something interesting. So I guess I'm in to production because I enjoy the computer alot and also enjoy making noise with it. |
