Hey I'd love to help you out but I don't know euro pricing. I can tell you what kinds of items to get but they're still going to be out of date in a year or two. Give me an IM or something later if you still want to talk.

Hi!

I agree lots of stuff going on in the pc world right now. AMD is about to launch new motherboard socket M2 with DDR2 memory. There are rumours floating around about pci-express soundcards being developed by RME and ESI atm. And windows Vista will probably be released in early Dec. I would wait a year if possible. Thats what im doing atleast even tho I seriously tempted to upgrade not a day later than today. If I absolutely needed to upgrade today i would buy somthing like:

Bit worried about pci-express issuess then:

Asus A8V deluxe 2nd revision (Or other Via kt800 or nforce 3 mboard)
AMD X2 4800 (3800 will do fine to and alot cheaper also)
2GB Twin Corsair
Antec case
Zalman cnps/ALCU or tt xp-120
Barracuda SATA drives preferably 3 of em
gfxcard considerations: AGP port, fanless, DVI if needed, high performance not needed if u dont plan to use it for gaming or pshop/3dstudio or something like that
Soundcard of choice maybe RME HDSP 9632 or EMU 1820M, 1212M

If you are not worried about pci-express then just switch mboard and gfxcard suggestion to something like Asus A8N and a pci-express gfxcard. (There is a good thread on the RME homepage about pci-express and itīs issues.)

If u use or want to use powercore or UAD check mboard compatibility
