| hmm ... if there's so much talent here ... how come aly and fila or misja helsloot mix on etn and we don't :( ? and in my own opinion as djs they "stink" (to put it lightly) ... but as producers they're great ... anyway sorry for the examples, I don't mean to offend any fans, but these guys just popped into my head :) |

Thats becuase they have some solid tracks under their belt. Make one hit single with armin or pvd support and pretty much all the doors will open, for example, gigs, radio shows, interviews, remix requests, collaborations, and best of all free tracks from the label your signed to. |

so true. and people wonder why there's so much lacklustre stuff coming out in the trance scene... newer producers are forced to emulate the styles of the bignames if they want to get anywhere |

What you gotta remember - is it's not WHAT you know, but WHO you know!
Alot of mixers/producers knew people in the business, so it's a backdoor entry in someways.
But admittedly, alot too get in through sheer hard work and grit.
Most though, fluke it via people in the know. Which is a shame. |
