:wtf:
Awesome. I just got MSN 8.0 Beta (which looks exactly like MSN Live) and I really don't like it much. It's also using an insane amount of CPU while idle. Screw that. Back to 7.5. (Plus i don't like the fact that it's not showing the avatars in my contact list anymore. Blah!) |

After 30 minutes of light usage, it's now sucking up 48MB of memory with zero contact windows open, and only having had 2 conversations for a few minutes.
Also when going through the contact list, due to the nice fancy graphics it rides the CPU load up to 100% doing basic things. |

Something is wrong with your machine. Consider:
1) My entire system (with MSN Live running) idles at less than 5%.
2) Messenger Live only takes up 20 MB of memory on my system (Firefox 22 MB, IE 25 MB).
3) Big deal if your CPU jumps to 100% usage at times. That is why it is there (to be used). Be concerned if it sits at 100% for minutes at a time. Be concerned with page file usage.
* #1 and #2 are with uptime of about 8 hours, 6 hours of which have been with Messenger Live loaded and running (2 hours were pre-upgrade). |

It must've been doing something previously, because now it's down to 2%. Memory usage on it is down to 42MB though.
On a sidenote, with my box being up for the past 17 days without a reboot, Firefox is using 331MB of my memory :haha: |

Things I have found useful in the upgrade:
- Automatic search function to find those pesky contacts
- Ability to add/change display names to personalized names
- Option to customize main window and contact window colors
|
awesome.. ICQ only had these features about 10 years ago lol

My only complaint is that you can sort your contact list by name (complaint submitted to MS). |

| Anyone here know anything about Adium? I plan to replace my family's computer with a Mac Mini and get Adium for my sisters to run their MSN instead of MacMessenger. |
