Ok, that is possible, but I was under the impression you meant while your matching up the cued record, throw it and the playing record into your headphones to see if they are aligned or not. If that is what you mean, then yes, that is a split cue, you have both the master output and the cued record playing in the cue at the same time.

yah i don't personally like split cue much. its easier to just listen through speakers. split cue could come in handy if the system has a bad delay tho

uhm, the way i understand it is, split cue means you have the cue'd track in one ear, and the live output in the other ear.

another way is blend, where you have both cued and live in both ears, and you can fade between the cued track and the live output...

thats the way the split/blend works on my mixer, i don't use split... but i use blend alot, cuz monitoring from speakers has echo and stuff its harder to get it precisely matched..

Man your just starting to learn how to mix and you have these?

You win the lottery?

jeeze, what i would do for those decks.

BTW your mixes will sound proper e if you do learn about

4/4 beats and cue points. I didnt know nout about them for the first 6 months of my mixing, and i got my beatmatching great, but it was untill i learnt the art of cue points that mixing came together.

But one step at a time. Beatmatching then cue points. Then comes the equalizer... when fading in the tune, having the bass turned out on the equaliser will sound alot better, with the percusion of the tune still going. On cue points fade in some more bass, and take some out of the other tune. This is how to perfect your mixing though. Stupid of me really when ur just starting .

O well.

Regards.:D

If only mixing wasnt my vice. I dont even know how much i have spent over the past 5 years on plastik, but once I hit the cross over from hip-hop to trance, I went nuts buying new wax and trying to get rid of the old junk. I have probably spent well over 7 grand USD in the last 5 years.

Ah well. Life is Trance and i love life.

Cheers
