Right now I'm using an AB International Precedent 955LX to drive my bass cabs and a Rane MA6 to drive the mid-high cabs.
I would also recommend QSC, as they make quite the number of quality amplifiers.
What sort of wattage and pricerange were you looking for? |

| QSC puts out great value/quality. |

| I use my own Homemade AMP, pretty good quality and only cost me about 50 bucks to build. |

| I don't have one, my mixer is wired into my PC which handles all the sound in this house. |

I just have a 10 year old Yamaha stereo receiver about 100W/channel, don't like the sound, seems harsh. I was using a 250 watt Bryston pro amplifier for a while on the same speakers which are rated 400W and the extra power is noticeable and improves sound quality even at lower volume levels. Extra watt capacity gives "oomph" to any bass drums or other sudden volume increases. A smaller amp just does not have enough extra reserve power to give that sound.
I've been looking at Samson amps. The price is right, about $300 US for 400 watts/channel at 8 ohms, weighs 37 lb. Also Tapco (division of Mackie) has similar amps at slightly higher price, they're heavier, bigger transformers probably. The better amps have a switchable low-cut filter to remove low-end bass like under 30 Hz that just heats up the amp and speakers without producing any useful sound. |

| I have a QSC RMX 850. Pretty noisey, but it seems to work fine. Was only $299. I've had it for three years and haven't had many problems. I'm going to get some active monitors soon, so I wont be needing an amp or my PAs for a while...good to keep as back ups or for parties, even though I don't have any lol. |

| I have been using the AudioSource Amp One/A (http://www.audiosource.net/amponea.html) for the past couple of years. It gives great, clear two channel sound. It is perfect if you have good bookshelf speakers or passive monitors. However I would get something beefier if you were running full size DJ speakers (PA speakers). I like that it is passive so you don't have fan noise all the time. THD of < 0.04% and an S/N of 110dB. |
