mixing in albeton?

so i got the demo and was messing around with it last night and some of my mixes were not bad for my first time.
but i was wondering;
how do i mix the tracks perfectly? i know on turntables you can touch the record or w/e to stop the song for a split second, how do you do something like that in ableton?
also, i'm thinking of buying a mixer and 2cd/mp3 tables. what are some good beginner and cheap kinds? i don't need anything high tech. just something for me to make my own mixes and stuff.

i dont know much about abelton, but i think you have to 'warp' the track correctly.

for beginning mp3/cd players, i probably suggest the pioneer cdj 200. i dont know how serious you are, if you think you are going to stick with djing, then i would say get the pioneer with maybe a numark mixer. if you want the cd player mixer combo, maybe you should get the numark cd mix 2, its not bad for what it is.

think of your budget and see what you can afford.

p.s. it would be better if you posted this in dj booth section of the site

dude do a search...

we're tired of answering 10000000 ableton questions a week. there are tutortials that come with ableton that will teach you STEP BY STEP how to do it.

i have actually gone through the read me's and help on the program and i'm kinda lost on the whole thing.

and also, there isn't that many ableton questions a week.
i've been on the forums for a few weeks now and there is not that many.

Hostile group lol.

Not to stir the pot or anything but,

1) If you're tired of responding to the same questions, it's simple, don't.

2) Some people are new here and just getting their feet wet, they haven't been around for months (or even years), there's alot of information to absorb.

3) "The true measure of a man is how he treats someone who can do him absolutely no good." - Samuel Johnson (1709-1784)
How does this apply to this situation you ask? Simple, remember when you (veterans) were newbies to this site and even music production? Did you not have a load of questions and did you not want to be treated fairly?

4) You should feel flattered that people are coming here to ask their questions, that in itself should say something about the quality and caliber of musically inclined people that represent this site.

Okay, I'm sure I'll get flamed right out of this place now but meh, it's pretty much the number one reason I don't come here with alot of the questions I have, too much hostility.

Actually the search function is messed up, it doesn't find threads older than mid-december 2005, for the past 2 months (at least it doesn't work correctly for me...)

Can't help you with Ableton, but I'd suggest Pioneer CDJ-100s for you first players. They have a mighty good rep and a high value/price standard :)
