Helllllo TAs! I had a question. I am in process of assembling my website, and I might seem to need to use frames. Would you recommend using frames, and what do you think should be done as an alternative or what are the significant "weaknesses" of using frames? |

Um, don't use frames. If you do make sure its left aligned. People freak out when the scroll bar isnt where it normally is. |
ditto.
if you know how to use frames, and since you said you are a beginner, use . after that, you can make the jump to

Well, I sort of been doing HTML/small projecs for 4 years now. I have my current mainpage designed in a format. However, I would like to have all my pages to have the same layout as the main page (navbar on top, main links on the left side, text in the middle, "updates" scrollbar on the right, banner and/or copyright info on the bottom).
However, I am using some serious amount of javascipt, and since I love using .js and .css, I want to be able to change all my designs by only touching one file. Using tables that is not possible (I dont want to manually change every page's layout). Is there are free ASP/PHP tools out there for that (I have never used those before, and I have a faint idea of what they do)? Thanks!

| i find css makes it easy to make navigation and keep stuff in there right place. once u make your main lay out, copy it for the other pages and change content. |
