| My ideal place to live would be not to live anywhere specific, but to travel big cities constantly. If I had to settle for good, I'd probably go with Toronto. |

| Well after having my first 13 years in middle-class Sweden, and then moving to and living in Indonesia (paradise on earth!) for the past 7 years, my life ambition is to move to Bali. I don't care what job I will be doing, as long as it will be in a tropical place (preferrably by a beach). That is my only certain goal in life, which I'm set on making happen. :) |

| Canada is too cold, I wanna live in a tropical place where I can eat coconuts all day and sleep in a tree. |

Is this true for all parts of Canada, or just some areas more than others? What about in the summer? |

The Vancouver area in BC has a pretty moderate climate, still snow, but less of the "bitter cold" that you'll get in many other parts of Canada... Summer in most of southern Canada is absolutely amazing, if you enjoy being outside at all you'll love it. The Boundary Waters area about 10 hours north of where I live here in Wisconsin is one of my favorite places in the world...
As for me, my ideal home would most likely be in either Utrecht or Leiden in the Netherlands, as I'd love to get back there to stay, but don't believe I could actually live in Amsterdam (specifically Centrum) for the rest of my life...
Very nice thread Mikey...
Good luck. |

It's a big country.
South-east, it's all about extremes; you get REALLY cold winters (well, maybe not this year). Sometimes we see temperatures going into the negative fourties, usually around -25 though. Summer gets really hot though (but with some chilly nights). Typical summer day would be around 25c raw, but taking humidex into account it goes as high as the mid 40s.
The west is pretty much the opposite. Not too cool in the winter, not too warm in the summer. Just nice weather all around, lots of sunshine.
The center prairies are pretty cold, but regardless of weather, I'd avoid those, they're the boring part of the country.
Just forget completely about the north. |
