its great that the only people that post are the ones that hate the winner.

who is voting?

ps, I liked swing to harmony :) but I liked other songs better.

yeah, that's what i don't get. with any of the other winners, be it now or at the time, you could play them in a club anywhere and the whole place would erupt... i really couldn't say the same for perasma. ATRC may not have been that groundbreaking a track but it was far FAR bigger & pretty much the undisputed track of the year (not necessarily *best*.. there's a difference)

guess its bound to happen as the years go on though... all the ideas are being used up & there's fewer standout tunes as a result

I think Swing 2 Harmony deserved it, because of the 'Deserves An Effort Symphony Dub'. The moment it was mixed with Yahel - Behind Silence in ASOT185 was just amazing :eyespop:

Ps: I voted for Dogzilla - Without You

I just took one look at the lists and decided that there wasn't anything worth voting for. I presume others did the same.

Anyway, Swing 2 Harmony has just been rereleased, are they trying to cash in on it's new-found popularity on TA? :)

It's not so much "strategic voting'... but strategically placed votes!

If the poll really had any validity to it (which it does), I assume it's because Swing to Harmony had the most votes placed within Top 10's in general... and not placed in the #1 spot! It just had the most number of votes within certain ranking regions which would classify it as the top track of 2005.

Basically it's name was seen the most... not neccessarily the #1 track amongst voters.

what mix of the songs are you talking about...it only says the song...i mean some mixes are better than others...thats way to general

Good point by mortyman... I also agree that what this list indicates is the extreme decline of "popular" trance taste within the last 4 years.

You see, if there were 500 people voting in 2001, the proportion of "hardcore" or "purist" trance lovers back then was greater than it is now. Now if there are 20,000 people voting, the chances that more "trancers" who will listen to anything labeled as such with marginal knowledge about trance will in fact vote for these rubbish tracks, is naturally higher.

Thus it can be argued that popular in 2001 and popular in 2005 are two completely different opinions.

Luckily, there is now much more music to choose from!

Peace,

I don't agree that it's total rubbish, it's a reasonably effective melodic, progressive kind of trancer - but it's far from ground breaking . There are numerous tracks far more deserving of winning that quite frankly are far better songs. How does something like this actually get the amount of votes that it does?

no ing this track was pretty uneventful. christ, love theme dusk surpassed this piece of , and that track even blows.:eyespop:

Haven't read every post but here's a suggestion for future polls: Everyone is allowed to post his "Tune of the year" in the topic and one member counts all posts/votes. Isn't that better than offering 5 opportunities, as here are many many different styles in the forums !!!

And one thing apart from that: Some of you posted that tracks are "" or somethin like that. Have you ever thought about different tastes ? Do you like fish ? I HATE fish. But everyone of you could vote fish as the "food of the year" ! (just an example) As many of the community can't really measure the quality of a track, cos they don't know much of music theory or composition or production the "taste" is probably the only criteria they can use.

Unfortunately on a public forum like this, there's always twats that post stuff like "it's ". It's your basic closed-mindedness that wreeks here. You just gotta plug your nose ;)

Anyone who calls "As The Rush Comes" a "" track needs to get his head examined, and then re-examined - that if he has one in the first place.
