Albino 2 and Moog Modular V on bass

I was wondering, which synth I should get for 'window rattling bass'
the Arturia MoogModular V does a great job, but I don't really like the other sounds that came with it.

Albino on the other hand, Albino doesn't quite have the same bass preset that the moog modular has, but with a little tweaking, I think some really awesome bass sounds from it. (with some tweaking ofcourse) That could possibly rival the moog modular.
All in all I LIKE albino better than the moog, b/c I like it's other presets, and the fact it seems easier to program. and it takes much less CPU than the moog modular.

My question is would I still be missing the bass sound from the moog if I went for albino?
Or should I just get a sample CD with lots of moog bass AND albino?
anyways thanks for your help!

The Moog Modular is by far and away the more powerful Synth. It really is a very good recreation of the grand daddy of them all.

That said, as you've discovered it's a monster CPU hog, and as it's a pure modular a bitch to get your head around if you are not totaly comfortable with the way these things work.

Personally I'd get the modular thoguh, as it has a great sound, and is very flexable. The learning curve is steep, but once you are comfortble with it you will be confident on 90% of the synths out there. You'll also find that most of them are very restrictive as to what you can do with them.

If you want to truely learn and UNDERSTAND what is going on (and in turn get TOTAL CONTROL) of your sound the Gordan Reid Synth secrets series from Sound on Sound will get you a long way.

What's even better.. it's FREE!!
