and literally EVERY S&D Party from mid 99-on ward

memorable characteristics about the club

-the ceiling dripped by the FREE WATER FOUNTAIN
-DJs in the bathroom
-bubble chairs upstairs outside of the twilo store
-PVD Angels down and front!
-middle of the dance floor under the ball the floor literally bent with the jumping crowd, i swear the floor was going to cave in! if you weren't jumping with the crowd, you'd be jumping with the floor cuz it bent under you!
-witnessing the bouncers kick out sections of bleachers "everyone in this section GET THE UP AND GET THE OUT" lol
-they move the DJ booth from the corner where the VIP was at the end of the era

personal memories
-getting kicked out from smoking in the speakers (sat in the speaker and smoked a blunt)
-hooked up with a 28yr old chick (i was 19) and her approach to me "my boyfriend is out of town and i want to have a good time" :conf: "OK USA"
-dropping my third hit and then finding out my cousin who drove me wanted to leave...ended up in some diner rolling my face off (for you flushing people - kanes diner on college pt blvd - steak and eggs) i was about to puke!
-back during this time, this was when all E was good E hahahaha

that's all I can think of now, but i do get goosebumps reminisicing!

TWILO WILL ALWAYS LIVE IN MY HEART!

Ah yes, the infamous Twilo Phazon speakers. I wonder whatever happened to them. The DJ Booth was auctioned off for like $30K, I can't remember what happened to the Phazon system. You brought back some of the coolest memories. Especially rolling in Diner - classic. Had similar reaction in El Greco, up in Brooklyn right after wild night at Twilo. Remember waitresses being extra nice and patrons looking at me like I had two heads (wich I felt like I did).

- Making out with random chicks
- Seeing fey dudes lick each other's eyeballs *yes, EYEballs* :wtf:
- Chick walking around the club asking random people to feel her up (full commando under kilt, sporting landing strip) - cute too.
- nice classy chick dancing up front and center in a V cut type of silk shirt that sideways gave complete view of her well shaped pair of C's
- oh, and walking out in a broad daylight with fresh breeze blowing from the river. Actually walked to the river to chill for several hours.
- Seeing World Trade Center Towers lit by early morning sun on your way to Battery Park :(

old saying that started with "54"....

If you remember Twilo...you weren't at Twilo.

Twilo was good....but i still like NASA at Shelter better than any others....something about it was..well..dark.

We used to go to bed at like 7pm then wake up at 2am to get ready for Twilo and be there at around 3am.

The 90s where awesome in NYC....the era of Peter Gatien.

back then im not even sure they had disposable cameras

thats why i think pictures were pretty limited...

they "MIGHT" of had them not 100% sure, wasn't really worrying about taking pics during those times hahaha

haha.. i think those came out in the 80's. you're not that old.

people are too picture obsessed at clubs these days. things were good before digicams took off and everyone and their mother had bad omgwtfbbq pics with tiesto and shiny lasers.

If clubbing were like that now, I probably wouldn't be out all that often.

Also, the movie didn't portray it as though it was really about the music, more about the scene, which isn't my style either. Granted, that's the movie portrayal, so as someone who didn't experience, I can't say whether that's accurate or not.

Well I agree I couldnt be into the club kids scene but that movie is actually pretty accurate as my friend found these pics of club kids during several limelight nights in the 90s and Michael Alig is in some of them. Also the stories that I have heard from people who have checked out that club during its heyday have also said it was totally out of control with the drugs and the behavior in there.

anyway.. I would have much rather been at any of the sasha and digweed, carl cox, sandra collins, dave seaman, or pvd nights at twilo over anything :)

Someone should post those flyers when people are complaining about ticket prices, as they're higher than we pay now.
