Wow. I met a girl who hates Valentines day.
We are celebrating not celebrating V-Day, by renting Saw II, and going bowling. We MAY splurge and get some wings for dinner.... but that is still yet to be decided. No mushy cards, chocolates, or candy hearts with ghey messages..... however, sexual exchange will be tolerated.
I don't need a day on the calendar to tell me when to treat my lady like gold. |

As you know, tomorrow is that HORRIBLE holiday known as VALENTINE'S DAY.
If you (like myself) don't anticipate getting any DISGUSTING red roses OR want to throw a rock at those making out to Zamfir records, come join us at the CONFLICT ARCHIVES and FESTIVAL CINEMAS as Dion Conflict presents "Be My Vile Valentine" - Films for the broken hearted, or couples with a good sense of humour..... Tuesday night at 9:15pm at the Royal. Here's the details...
DION CONFLICT PRESENTS
BE MY VILE VALENTINE
Tuesday February 14th @ 9:15 pm (doors open at 8:45 - SHARP!)
THE ROYAL CINEMA - 608 COLLEGE STREET (Just West of Bathurst)
$6 for mebers, $8 for NON-MEMBERS (ask at the box office for the REEL DEAL card where you can get reel cinema value with ALL Festival's Cinemas!)
Finally, fed-up singles and those with a good sense of humour have an event they can call their own. BE MY VILE VALENTINE is a showcase of short oddball films centering on the flipside of L-O-V-E, with a spotlight on four films for the broken-hearted including: FOOTPRINTS, a charming Christian propaganda film about poor teen Betsy, who gets knocked up by Michael and her "hip" pastor tells her that pre-marital sex is a sin (with a Feminine hygeine commmercial feel). Then HOW DO I LOVE THEE, one of the first films in the 60's shown to students about the old "bird in the bush" problem. Is "petting" better than going "half way"? Next, HOW ABOUT SATURDAY, dealing with divorce and playing out like a dollar store version of KRAMER VS KRAMER. And finally a MYSTERY FILM. Dion Conflict will intro the films, encourage the audience to heckle the onscreen tonsil hockey, and give out tacky prizes to make Cupid cringe. It's a Valentine's Day celebration for the rest of us. Bring your bitter!
BE SURE TO PASS THIS ALONG TO YOUR OTHER BITTER OR SINGLE FRIENDS - MAYBE THEY CAN PICK UP! ;)
In our last KONFLIKT IN THE KINO "road tour" we got to meet lots of nice new people to sign up for our mailing list that DO want to see stuff they can't find on video, or culture BEYOND the GTA. I now say officially, welcome aboard!

I was thinking the same thing...are you guys actually in a bag or is that photoshopped?
Also...F Valentine's Day! I've never liked it. Regardless if I'm with someone or not...I think it's a load of crap!! I'm terrible at buying presents anyway, why waste money on some stupid made up holiday by some dumb corporation to make loads of cash. |

No, we were on a Maid of the Mist in Niagara Falls and we thought it would be funny for both of us to snuggle up in a single rain suit. It's kinda weird how the colour from the suit and our faces were so vivid and clear, and the background looks dull, so it looks photochopped...I hafta post a few more of those photos here...it was such an awesome time we had together there :(
P.S. I never noticed before (until I just thought about it now, for Valentine's, that the opening looks like a heart!!! SO COOL!!!! :D) |

Dressing up in a bag just for s and giggles does seem like something you would do though. Let's do that! Next time we're together...we're dressing up in a bag! |
