PASSION
I the past year this club has gone downhill and gone down fast. Last night was one of my worst nights out clubbing in this country yet and I paid 13 quid to do it.
First off I don't understand why the club attracts the Top Man/Burton shopping twats that feel the need to go there, or why the club even allows the pissheads to enter. The "normal" clubbers are as unfriendly as hell and need a serious lesson in clubbers etiquite. They call it a DANCE floor for a reason, its not, as some of the passion regulars, are so inclined to believe a "Stand around or sit and try to hold a conversation with my mates floor" And lastly if you see people doing the odd activity of DANCING on the "Dance floor" do not stop in front of the have a look around for the entire length of a song and then decide to leave. WANKERS all of em'. Not to mention the club has a serious lack of atmosphere.
The club was about half full, so without the club packed with people you noticed all the holes in the walls, the massive hole in womens toilet that my friend said she almost fell into, the cracked /broken toilet in the mens room. And for sake you could at least hire some cleaners, the club was still dirty from the night before!
Now on the the music the line up was John kelly, Dj Tandu, and JFK. John Kelly, who I normally really enjoy, played a really bad set. He was all over the place there was no flow it was really choppy and I couldn't get into it.
Dj Tandu, played a decent set, only he started off slow and decied to build, but he had the midnight set so it kind of brought everyone down, but around 1 he was rockin.
JF"I cant mix to save my in life"K is one of the worst Dj I've ever had the displeasure of listening to. His first four mixes were absolute train wrecks. It was so bad I had to go sit in the house room. When we left he attempts to mix that "I want it harder" song with Rui Da Silva "Touch Me" original version played at plus 10. You can imagine how that sounded! There should be a New rule in clubland if you promote your own night, you should not be allowed to DJ it until you learn how to beatmatch.
Lastly for the girl who was wearing a Gatecrasher skirt, you should be ashamed of yourself for disgraceing the Gatecrasher logo by bringing him into a hole like that. And if your the kind of guy who likes to see a pair of while your out head to PASSION, on our early exit from the club, this minger decided it would be cool to dance on the podium topless, Thank you for my eyes will never be the same.[ |

ohh, no icant believe my eyes...is it really that bad.i have never been and the plan was for me and my girl to go last weekend (i think) in feb.,to see the man himself mauro fantastico picotto.im certainly not gonna if its anything like u say, holes, dirty club??? crappy line-ups.
taking everything into consideration, looking onto the midlands from bird view its like an ugly ugly form of clubland cancer spreading from nottingham to derby to coalville and probably leicester.
u ask what i mean? let me enlighten, first i came to discover that renaissance filled with more and more alkys weekend to weekend, than the club where its held (media) changes management with a whole new bad attitude bouncer team and a new set of rules on how to have a good time, then the only decent night out in notts decides to move to derby(hotdog), big mistake everyone stopped going and the nite eventually stopped as about 30 peeps a weekend turned up. leaving progress in derby which is going the same way as renaiss with moves like lets change venues from out of town away from drinkers to in-town so we can scoop on all of those s who decide to go to progress after another club(which played garage obviously) walking around with attitude pushing & cussing people like me and touching & groping my girl.Wankers! now we have nisch in notts derby or coalville as i read.
ps never be to leicester or bubblelove, i just cant see myself travelling from notts to leice for a nite of hardhouse by the likes of sara, ann or jf u r so popular k. |

Sorry Sig it was that bad, when I first went to PASSION a year ago it was decent now the decline is dreadfull. If you want to see Picotto just do what I'm planing, a trip to Crasher the people and the club are 1000 times better than Passion.
"Crashin not Passion" my new slogan! ha ha |

Laff! Shame to hear it's gone down hill though coz it's one of the clubs I've always wanted to go to. You hear so much good stuff about the place. Pity. |

I forgot to add something during the John Kelly set, John dropped this sweet tune with a killer breakdown, I don't know the tune so don't ask. But this girl standing next to me decked out in cyber wear prcedded to shout "Cmon Judge Jules that's the way we like it". At that point I tap her and the shoulder and pointed out that the Dj was John Kelly.
Lineup for the night was:
John Kelly
Dj Tandu
JF"I suck really bad"K
and Lange
JUDGE JULES????? not on line up
PASSION = POSERS |

Sorry to hear you had a bad night, sounds as if JFK had a bad night too, cos when I went on the 12th both he and Guy Ornadel were amazing, I was only in the red room for about half an hour listening to JFK, cos hard house isn't my thing, but he really has got some skills, and Guy DJ'd for 6 hours without making a single mistake, and the set flowed perfectly. I had an absolutely amazing night there, and I absolutely love the place, and I'll definately be there on the 23rd of february to see Armin do his return gig.
There weren't many pissheads when I went, and the place had a really friendly atmosphere, and everyone was there to have a good time, and the ratio of mingers to fit birds was relatively low :D
PS if u think Passions the worst club in england you've obviously never been to the Cotton Club in Kettering, absolute hole, and thats been getting in Mixmag of late  |

I never said Passion was the worst but one of the worst, it has continued it's slow and steady slump over a year period.
As for Guy no matter where your at your going to have a good night cause he's an amazing Dj.
JFK on the other hand is and anthemn Dj he will play anthem after anthemn most of the time not mixed for more that 8 bars with sharp changes. Don't like him at all |

hehe ppl don't worry just found this on 4clubbers.net
PASSION ANNOUNCES DETAILS OF NEW CLUB INTERIOR
Passion, unlike most other clubs, will not be closed for January but will still be refitting the club interior. As the competition for trade hots up, so does the customers choice of where to frequent. Understanding this, Passions' interior will be totally transformed to meet the demands of today's clubber.
The out of date toilets will be replaced by modern working facilities. Gradually, the whole club will be given a total make-over. The front of the building has also been ear-marked by the council for a make-over and will be changed in the near future. As the rear of the club is the favoured entrance for clubbers, throughout cold winter nights we plan to introduce fire burning oil drums for the warmth of clubbers queuing and entertainment to make their experience at Passion even more memorable.
and they're also in the process of choosing a new resident DJ, and one of the favourites is Armin at the moment :D |

thats a pity mate!..i've been to passion 4 times now and each time had an amazin night!..maybes it was just the bad line up??!
jfk's pretty hard..in his style and i do like that..but i undertsand wot you mean with his mixing..it can be way off!
btw i don't like john kelly at all..he's so arrogant and plays the same tunes night after night!..the only times i've been impressed with him is wen he does festival gigs.creamfields and sss he's been excellent..playin anthem tunes of the time.
at godskitchen in december..the guy played ppk twice! and zombie nation??!..wtf??!..also he always finishes with laurent garnier-man with the red face.i used to looove that tune but its soo expected now by him that i don't get the buzz from the song..like i used to.
very inconsistant commercial dj!
guy ornadel on the other hand..is wicked!..he smokes spliffs while he dj's!...respect to the man!!:D |

I haven't really paid that much attention to Passion its near to me and stuff but I've not really noticed it, I know people a lot of people who used to go up there a lot and they used to rant on about it loads, like I can remember in 2000 it was the club, I remember reading DJs ranting on about it in magazines a lot, and I think it won some awards the Emporium? I'm not sure, but yeah clubs can go downhill very quickly like theres one club in Northampton Sweat it had wicked musicial taste and it had a brilliant venue in Northampton, at the Guildhall and it kicked ass it was like going clubbing in some massive cathedral thingy really big and high and spacious it had a massive courtyard and stuff too, they moved to Storm in coalville but it became a flop, and I remember things were still good for a few months they moved out from the Guildhall after a couple of minor scenes, and started putting on events in really dodgy places they still got in some good djs but the venues were crap, they've now got their own club its okish, but I don't think spending around £7 - 10 to see small time DJs play is .
Worst club by far for me has to be Frisky @ Legends in Northampton, I don't even know how the they get Djs to play there, its a weird mix of people, to beer boys, to older clubbers, to cyberkids all of which are musical snobs and musicially uneducated like the rest of this ing town, Beer Boys out for fights and cheese, Older Clubbers out to get ed or pissed off their head in a club size of the bottom floor of my house come on they might aswell stay at home a blare some music out with their jack n jills and beer, and cyberkids who are the best of the bunch in there but still they hate trance I swear, the most annoying thing is I've seen people like Scott Bond, John '00' Flemming and loads more of quality Trance Djs play, and everyone bogs off cos Anne Savage, Ingo Starr, or Charlotte Birch aren't playing, their miserable, they never even cheer unless its Judge Jules or someone like that playing, the venue sucks its only good when they do joint nights with Godskitchen, and Ultra Vegas because they go to the bigger venues, the club is like this a crowd full of office party types listening to dodgy music on the middle floor, and the fake clubbers from hell on the top, I know people who go there, but its amazing how e venues are and clubs will never leave them venues, plus probably all the good clubbers in town are barred by the wanker bouncers anyway so that probably explains the lack of people, this night is seriously not recommended as the rest of Northampton |
