Carpel Tunnel Syndrom SUCKS!

Just realized I have it, too much typing on the keyboard I guess :p

Some info for anyone interested in my experience:

I spend many hours a day on the comp, so if you don't do a LOT of typing and such for extended periods of time, you probably don't have to worry.

It started out as an extremely minor, dull pain in my wrist. Finally realised that the most pain happens when I'm typing! Got it checked out, and sure enough, CT. Now that I have a wrist-rest (those cool gel pad thingies) my wrist is finally starting to get better!!!

I just want to urge all of you who spend their days on a comp to make sure you're using at LEAST a wrist-support to avoid the pain I've been in the last few months. Another good idea is an ergonomical keyboard (those weird ones with the keyboard split in half).

That is all.

My brother-in-law had to change careers because he was a carpenter and got carpel tunnel from all the hammering. Now he's a truck driver.

I've been recently getting the pains too ever since I started doing more computer work at work. Finally got them to buy the wrist supported mouse pad and keyboard for me. Can't really feel the pain anymore but it's probably still getting worse.
Surgery for it is such a pain in the ass too.

your best defense is assuring that your wrists are elevated above your fingers. this is best achieved without a wrist rest, but if you must rest them, be certain that the wrist rest is high enough to keep your wrists a couple inches above their normal resting position. this is recommended for anyone who uses a keyboard.

carpal tunnel syndrome is when the nerves that span from your wrist to your fingers gets so irritated from being overworked without proper bloodflow that scar tissue forms around the nerve(s), subsequently choking it into numbness. the surgery involves cutting the scar tissue off of the nerve, allowing its freedom.

I dont know for a fact, I'd have to ask my chiropractor next time I go in for an adustment, but think *maybe* the TheraLase (low intensity laser treatments) could help with this situation.

I'm going to ask next time! We'll see.

If scar tissue is the actual reason behinds CT formation, then TheraLase low-intensity laser light (LILL) treatments WILL help this problem.

Scar tissue is one of the many, many things that is treatable by LILL!
