Sample CD:s

I have wondered what would be the best Sample CD serie for making trance. So far I've liked E-lab's X-Static Goldmine series but I only got experience about the demo samples. I look at some prices and those CD;s aren't cheap at all so I need to know which one is worth buying. I read somewhere that the first GoldMine serie might be suitable for trance but arrgh, there are like million other good CD:s from other companys also so this is not easy to decide :whip: .
It would help if someone even knows a site where they compare the quality of different sample CD:s....

I was surprised how many professional producers actually have used sample CD;s: for example Paul van Dyk, Darude (well, is Darude that professional) and JS16 so those could be really handy...

goto www.bestservice.de
Look for: Nu House (Hard Trance!)and Techno Trance Essentials

Those are wicked cdz!!!

Why where u suprised when u noticed that alot of producer uses sample cdz? Itīs like using any instrument. Itīs not like u take some sounds from a sample cd and u got a song.

Of course it's okay to use effects and textures and because the lack of those (and a synth) I need a sample CD. Some of the producers use lot's of drumsloops, I don't think that's very cool if you build the base of the song with some ready loops that someone else has made, atleast I've always tried to avoid this by building the loops myself.

edit: forgot to say thanks for the link....

Ur welcome!

SO u donīt think itīs okey to use drumloops?

I disagree, I think itīs totaly okey.
Since u have bought the cd, the cd is meant to be used in songs.
And Itīs not like I just put the drumloops in a song and does nothing to it, I tweek around with it as much as possible.
Thereīs no many songs that donīt have a drumloop on top of the kick. Drumloops work miracles.

Itīs okay to use all kinds of sample cdz they contain single shoot samples.

Thatīs what I think.

BTW, Bestservice is the best sample cd site there is... As u might have noticed by now. To bad all cdz are so expensive.

If u canīt afford a synth , buy a sample cd with sounds from that synth at:

Well, atleast I don't buy the sample CD because of the drumloops and it would be better if there wasn't any of'em :). There's a line between the samples I want to use and the ones that I don't.
Drumloops is one category and other are those samples with longer ready melodies, something like ejay samples if u know what I mean.

I'm not very good at building drums but still I try my best and learn all the time more. If I ever get a real drummachine I can build some kick-ass loops :D and actually be proud of that everything is self-made. I don't say that people shouldn't use loops, hell why not to use'em if you have paid all that $$$ and I'm also totally okay with it. Who knows, when I get too lazy maybe I'll start using the loops but I hope I could survive without'em :).

Haha, yeah I would also do that If had a drummashine. :)
I use Beatcreator and slice up all drumloops there so I get alll the sounds from the drumloop so I can do what ever I like with it. Is fun to experiment that way. I recomend that program.

And I agree with u that itīs very hard to get good drums, rythm patterns. A drumloops fixes that for u. :P

Enuff about drumloops now. :)

Hope u find a good cd.

Cheers. :)
