The last one has a story to go along with it, but I am going to google it because my memory doesn't serve me entirely well. |
This is also the place to watch the voladores. It's well worth seeing. Five costumed men recreate a ceremonial ritual first started by the Totonac indians from Veracruz. The flyers begin by climbing the tall pole, then each of four of the men slip a foot into a loop at the end of a rope that is wound around the top of the pole. The fifth team member performs a special dance to each of the four cardinal directions, dancing upon the top of the pole while playing a flute! At the right moment, the four flyers release themselves from the small cap on the pole and fall to earth, circling around the pole in expanding circles as the rope unwinds, eventually touching ground.

I went to Cancun last May..had an amazing time...the only that sucks is the cover for the clubs. Most places charge you around 30-35 American dollars plus open bar...but imo it's a bunch of bs for the open bar...you wait in line with about a thousand other people that also paid for the open bar. Anyways, if you have a chance check out La Boom, probably the best club in Cancun. Where are you staying at? |
I was in Cancuun in Oct of 2005. I had 4 great days and 6 days of living hell due to the fact i got stuck there when Hurricane Wilma hit so i was trapped there.
but anyways, you're rite bout the clubs being $35 for the open bar and what not but if you go through someone at a hotel you're at, they have a list of what clubs they will be hittin up on what nites for that week. Best advice was to stick with their gameplan and if you get to the club and you're not happy they will take you somewhere else. On our 1st nite there, they guy wanted to take us to Bullfrog, some place that playd hip-hop. We got there and didn't even wait 5minutes and told the guy we wanted to go to Daddy-O's. Sure enough he did and also included in the $35 was a table. So $35, open bar and a table was really worth it. Seeing Thomas Penton spin a great set also made the nite:toocool: |

We just decided for ourselves where we wanted to go, and then bartered with the person selling the tickets outside. We usually got pretty good deals. Fat Tuesdays ftmfw!!! |
