Trance Energy In Utrecht, Holland!!!

Hey everyone,
Last Friday night I had a wicked time at Turnmills in London when Ferry played a 5 hour set. It was completely packed and I danced in the booth, had a bit of a buzz and stayed for Riley and Durrant. I figured I was so close to Holland that I don't care how I was going to get to Trance Energy, I just wanted to experience it.

So I booked a last minute flight to Holland on the Thursday, then came Friday. I was able to get a VIP pass for the event and since it was only me, it was going to be an adventure.

I didn't manage to get back to west London until about 8:30 am and slept for about 4 hours with a nasty champagne hangover (thanks Ferry). I took some aspirin, hopped in the shower, packed my backpack and left about 4 pm on the train to Heathrow. It was quite funny because I looked like a gypsy skater wandering girl with this big backpack, laceless Hawk skater shoes, a jacket and my trustee sidekick.

I arrived at Heathrow barely just in time for my flight and luckily I didn't have any baggage so I whisked right in and onto the plane. One hour later Im in Amsterdam buying a train ticket to Utrecht. I got into Utrecht about 10pm and all I knew was the venue was called Jaabuers, had no idea where it was. Eventually some Turkish guy with broken Dutch, English pointed me in the right direction and I headed over. it took me awhile to meet up with a mate of mine to get my pass and I'm in the sea of trance addicts entering the venue. Jaarrbuers is a convention center, and at first I couldn't find my entrance, so I walked all the way around this joint to only figure it out it was close to where I first came into the entrance. But considering I had no idea of the place, I finally made it. I met up with my friend, got my pass, entered the event, saw the Armada stage where Perry O'Neil was playing, then went to the stage and finally the main stage. The guy said he had to take care of his djs and I said, "Don't worry I'll be fine!"

Trance Energy is AMAZING!!!!! 30,000 people having such a good time. No puddle cuddles, no raver kids with light sticks in your face, young kids running around, it was pure dancing, and energy. All types of people, ethnicities (though mainly Dutch), young adults, older people, normal attire, crazy attire. I can't express the high I got watching the main room with 20,000 + strong going nuts. The set up was incredible as well, 2 stages with light effects in the middle, pyrotechniques, visual graphics, introduction of DJ's. I sat in the VIP booth drinking my red bull vodka overlooking this scene, awesome.

I stayed in there until about 1:45 am, went to the Armada stage for a bit, saw Jules on the decks, then back to the main stage when Armin came on. Met a group of crazy Brits, smoked a splif and danced around. Then from there, I went to the VIP booth again and another red bull vodka. After that, I walked back over to the Armada stage where Markus was playing. Danced around abit and my friend found me and dragged me back stage where I saw Armin and the first thing he said was, "San Diego!" LOL It was funny, I just hung out and danced around a bit, mingled with the big boys. After Markus was done, he came down and we said what's up to eachother (I'm sure he was wondering what the hell I was doing there) and asked, "What are doing here?" I simply replied, "It's trance energy!" By this time I was drunk, still alittle stoned, and starting to get alittle exhuasted.

I hung out for a bit, took some photos, it was getting late and everyone was bailing. I stayed till it closed cause' there was no point in being in a hurry since my flight was until 11:15 am. Once it was over, I grabbed my backpack, walked to the train station where abunch of wild animals were still in the mood to have fun, I jumped on the WRONG train and headed the wrong way. I had a feeling I was going the wrong direction, but I stopped on the next stop, jumped trains back to Utrecht and then to Schipol airport. I was soooo tired then. I walked into departures, jumped on my flight back to Heathrow. Landed, took the underground back to my final destination. Tired, starbucks in hand, exhuasted and ears still ringing, I finally made it back at 2:15 pm Sunday.

I know this is a long story but some people think I'm nuts for trucking this adventure, but can't go thru life wishing you went somewher, especially if you're that close. It was sooo much fun and as if I'm not a trance addict as it is, the vibe and scene I saw made me love it even more. I enjoyed Global Gathering last year, but this is right up there of nights to experience. I encourage anyone who wants to experience a real night of trance and good times, journey to trance energy.

My next mission is WMC this year, Global Gathering again if I can, and Sensation. I also plan on going to Ibiza again as well, bum style again. Photos can't do justice to this event, no superficial people, no annoyances (atleast not for me) everyone was on the same page. the way I've experienced events, I never had alot of money, but it's the determination of experiencing adventures that managed to keep me going.

Alright peace out!!!
