Summer in NYC

So it turns out I will be spending the summer in NYC working at GS downtown. I was wondering if you guys have any input about the NYU dorms. If I do plan to live in an NYU dorm over summer then which one will be the best option? Which ones are closest to the cool areas in town? Thanks in advance!

We've had interns that have lived in the ones around 3rd Ave. and 12th St. It's close to Union Square and the 4-5 train, which you'll be using to commute to the financial district if you live on the east side. I live a few avenues further east on 14th and work a few blocks from Goldman and my commute is 25-30 minutes, so yours would be 15-20.
At Union Square, you can also get the N, R, W, and Q trains which go towards the west side up to Central Park.

I think the people that worked at my firm who have lived there seemed to like it. It's a younger area and there's lots of things to do, whether it's bars, shooting pool, movies, sitting in the park, shopping, etc.
