| Almost any Ortofon, however the good ones are the Nightclub's. Also some like the Shure Whitelabels, though I personally don't like the sound they put off. And I've heard some House DJs swear by the Stanton HP-680's. |

the whitelabels are better suited towards breaks/dnb, since they have superior highhat response. i personally think the ortofons have a more balanced sound and overall i prefer them.
as far as ortofons go, i think the red "scratch" needles are the way to go. they sound just as good as the nightclubs, and are built to take more abuse. they also, of course, track alot better since they are made scratching.
the m44g's are awesome cartridges. these are what i started spinning on. the only reason i went to ortofon, really, was for the sleek pen-shaped cartridge which makes it easier to put the needle just where you want it.
the nice thing about the m44g is it requires so little tracking force, your records will last alot longer. IIRC the m44g is usable at .75 to 1.0 grams, quite light... this is WAY too light for ortofons.
if you can still find them, shure used to make a N44C stylii, which will fit the M44G/M447 cartridge. the C model, thou discontinued, was great. it's inbetween the M44G (light tracking, dance music) and the M447 (heavy tracking, pro scratch needle!) and is a great piece.
also note with the M44G/M447 cartirdges, the stylii are interchangable, so you can have the best of both worlds in one form of cartridge, mixing and scratching.
oh, and the m44g's have really nice bass response. not overdone, just very clean. excellent for 4/4 dance music. |

| any pair of needles should do fine, some people take it over-board. just matters what your doing... get scratch needles if u wanna scratch & mix... or get mixing needles if u wanna mix. |

| I love my whitelabels, superb sound quality with the least amount of record wear of any needle! Next I would go with m44-7/G :) |
