2 Questions about the computer (nero and windows med. player)

Hey Everyone
I have a couple questions about 2 different types of programs. My frist question deals with Windows media player. This is on my friends computer actually, but I can't figure it out. WMP is the only program that won't play sound while watching a video where divx and quicktime will. Nothing is wrong in device manager, any suggestions?
Also, I'm trying to burn a quicktime video into a vcd with Nero. I put the file in the appropriate window, click burn...and then it just sits there...and then says 100% encoding video. But nothing has burned to the cd...any help?

What format is the video? if its divx try downloading the lastest codec, goto to www.download.com and do a search there for divx, thats where i got mine from and it works fine. It couls also be ur friends mixer setings on his soundcard if the new codec dont work.
