Sat in SD - Wisternoff or Cabrerra?

#1425 on the DJ list or #1435? Decisions, decisions.
I wouldn't mind going to Belo, but friends say it's not very busy and the vibe was bad...but I can't get very excited about going to On Broadway.
Recommendations? Anybody seen either before?
The best events I've been to in the last year have been Deep Dish, Oakenfold, and Ferry at 4th/B--because everyone there those nights was there for a specific purpose. Not many accidental tourists. Much better than the clubs that have to do the same thing every weekend--hard to keep pulling the rabbit out of the hat, esp. with crowd variables. |

Well 4th & B has a house show Saturday night with Louis Vega.

| Victor Dinaire is playing at Kadan tonight. It's at 30th & Adams in North Park. Much different and smaller than Belo or OB, but it's free and has a good vibe. |

I was unable to convince my friends to go to Belo (or Kadan, which was also somewhere I would've rather gone) so we ended up at OB.
They were still serving food and seating people at 11:00. No more giant disco ball, and the lasers are gone.
The set was lame, the drinks are more expensive, and the crowd wasn't really into it.
Don't think I'll go back to OB ever--and while I was trying to show support for friends I don't see that often, there's simply no overcoming a lame vibe and a lame set.
Actually, isn't Satoshi coming to OB soon? I might consider going to that, but I think it's a midweek event...
Any review of Jody's set? Anybody go to Kadan? |
