Paul Oakenfold In Arizona Feb 17th (Please Read)

:DFirst off I think that its great that he is going to be here on the 17th, but I was wondering who else is going to see him spin @ club freedom, and if anybody has seen him before how is he. I mean I know its a dumb question (how is Paul Oakenfold) but I mean he did credit his 'success' to Hip Hop :eek: :eek: :eek: Anyway I really want to see him and see who else is going. kinda another TA meet up. Anyway thanks for listing to me, heh.

Well you are going to get a lot of flames here about people telling you that instead of going to go see him on the 17th, rather go download one of his recent sets online because he will be playing the same set.
I remember when I was going to see Oakey for the first time a few years ago. I built up the event way too much, and even though it was a sweet party (15,000 peeps) Oakey was nothing specail. Then, I saw him again 2 years ago and he sucked ass...trainwreckin!
He is definitely worth it to go see, just because he is such a superstar! hahaha.. ;)

definitely go see him, he is one of my favorite DJs!! I think i've seen him more than any other TA (about 9 times), and contrary to what everyone else says, he doesn't suck! I think everyone else just likes to jump on the bandwagon and sound "cool" for saying he sucks.... like anyone who says that's opinion actually counts... and like they are music critic authorities or something...
Trust me and go see him... Every set is completely different (especially recently). He mixes trance with prog. house and breakbeat, so its a real treat as to all the different stuff he throws in there. unfortunately there isn't too much of anything in the last year of Oakie spinning (liveset-wise on AG), so nothing really that would give you an idea of what he is spinnin'.... you'll just have to take people's word for it (like me)...
but don't listen to all these Oakie-haters, most of whom haven't even seem him in the last 2 years (if at all)!!! Oakie has changed a lot since '99 and 2000, so just b/c someone saw him like 2 and a half years ago and thought he sucked one night, doesn't mean he sucks in general.
I'm sick of all the Oakie-bashing on here. bleh.

But he is going to be there with me of course :D Anyway I'm really looking foward to seeing him on the 17th, I'll be sure to get tons of pics of not only him but us this time.

I dont mind the flaming too much I just needed some opinions like ABT's (people who actually saw him recently) to tell me how his sets are....thx

| i would go .... just cuz few of us think hes overated doesnt mean he sucks ..... hes still a good dj compared to many that are out there and unless its not a outrages price to see him ..i would always go see him even though i think hes so damn overrated .. cuz garenteed hes much better then most club residents in Az ..... |

woops!! sorry mike!! i got blinded by all the oakie-bashing on the way down the thread i thought plastikE started the thread...
you gotta understand, when the two coolest guys from TA are both in the same place in Arizona, i get them confused sometimes.... PlastikE, TF, same thing! both cool! heheh.... (good recovery?) ;)
anyways, go see him... to put it from an oakie-hater's perspective: hey its probably better than anything else you'll get out there for awhile.
heheh... you have to see him ONCE in your lifetime.

Well, I give the recovery an 8.5 heh, but it was no prob. Yeah Thats what I say, he is someone I would love to see at least once in my lifetime, and him being here in AZ is just rare. I really do like his style of music. and $20 bucks a ticket, :p I'm not passing that up :D Anyway I'll talk to you guys later..
