i honestly hope we finish in the top 3 .. more golds would be nice tho..
Canadians always seems to hav a less-than-agressive psyche when it comes to international competition .. we need to hav the kinda swaggar the Americans exude and really excel at Winter sports which is our speciality.. nonetheless a decent job thus far, let's hope it can carry thru ..

imagine what we could do if our atheletes didnt have to work and received proper funding like most of the top nordic countries.
Everytime i hear that anthem and our flag raised it gives me shivers...
I hope the government supports our athletes more to make Vancouver 2010 the best ever for us/ |

I agree...it seems that Canadians have always had the additude that "well I tried my best". The one things I will give the Americans credit for....they beat their own chests and more often then not...in sport....back it up. |

yeah I agree with that. Yesterday, a female athlete (I forget her name and her sport, but she's from London, Ont) said that "we don't need a medal to show the world that we're the greatest athletes."
Ummm.....YES YOU DO! The whole point of the Olympics is to win a medal! What a moron. I hope she was misquoted or something....:nervous:
Still though, this could be our best games yet. We're guaranteed at least a silver in the Women's Hockey and I"m sure the Men won't come home empty handed either. Curling and Bobsled still up too. |

they didn't qualify, which is kinda isn't fair since they finished 4th in 2002. But the IIHF uses the annual world hockey championships to gauge a country's elgibility, I think. |

Curling may not be so clear cut anymore, theres a chance both the men and women may not even make it pass the preliminaries. The men are in 4th at 4-3 and the women's were upset last night by Japan. |

it's nuts, i was watching downhill alpine the other day and they were talking about the 4 Canadian skiers that all placed below 15th and about how young and inexperienced they were, etc. and the fact that they were only 17-21 years old..
personally i thought those years were like the prime of ur sports career.. and then i flip to NBC and see 17 year old American athletes goin in there ready to compete kicking ass with absolutely no fear whatsoever.. it's mind boggling sometimes..
