Hi there i'm a newbie at djing, I've been spinning a couple days now. My question is how do I record my music from the mixer to my computer? What softwares and hardwares are required for this?
Thanks in advance! |

RCA Cables come from the Rec output of your mixer.
Get one of those y-splitters, and this plugs into the Line in on your comp.
I use Cool Edit Pro for recording.

Hey thanks for the replies guys but i'm so newb at this :/. When you said plug rca cables into rec output, where is the rec output located? I do have an OUTPUT section in the back of my mixer, there are 4 spaces, the top two are being used for my speakers, then there are two more on the bottom. Are those the places i plug my rca cable to? I use a VESTAX PCV-275. Also, will I be needing an amp for this, I dont have an amp because I am using powered speakers to play music.
thanks |

How about you read the manual, eh??? find RECORDING OUT, just like both of the other guys said. Get an RCA to 1/8" line connector, and then use a 1/8" cable to connect to the line in on your computer (or if you have a cable with RCA on one end and 1/8" connector on the other, then you can of course use that instead, it's even better).
Now you have audio running into your computer, then you can use a program like audacity to record the signal. If you don't know how to do that, then read the manual for audacity! |
