Review: Steve Porter @ Boom Boom Room, Windsor

We headed out around 10:30pm from the Royal Hoe to Windsor for this man. The secretive haus crew got here right on time and we made it past the plethora of kiddies at the tunnel to get to BBR around 11pm. The club looked nice - small, but nice. We got to the first floor and were like, uh NO! and made our way upstairs where we could hear choons as opposed to cheese.
The Skybar was nice - the lighting scheme was wikkid! The opening DJ, never caught his name, was a great warm up for Porter - would love a demo from this guy.
Porter went on around midnight (??) I think and he just upped the tempo and kept upping it. By the time 1am rolled around, I couldn't stop dancing! There was a pack of dancing-their-ass-of peeps in a corner and I just stayed with them and helped tear apart the dancefloor (they looked like TAs, they reacted to certain tracks like TAs, and one could have been Jeff's frickin' twin the way he was dancing but I didn't ask if they were TAs 'cause the music was so loud).
Some tracks I could not ID but that I heard: "Cum on my face, your my bitch (??)" and "It's like that, yeah, it's like - so heat it up, heat it up (??)". He also played Funkytown again which I love the remix of. I danced my ass off and wanted to close the place but, by 3am, my friends were hit (they aren't at TA-stamina yet) so we headed back to the D.
All in all, great night out - good choons and a great progression from funky house to hard, techy house and back again. Who's haus. runs haus? PORTER HAUS!

oh yeah.

ya the dancing people in the corner was me and my friends.. What a crazy night thanks to the fun people in the corner and all on the floor for that matter.. crazy night!

| Awesome night! Especially for Windsor its a great thing. Steve is now officially one of my favourite DJs. Just tore up relentlessly. Really fun to watch behind the decks and a really nice guy too. He said he's gonna come back to Windsor soon so I can't wait for that. Overall great night I just wish there was more of a crowd there for a great dj like him. At 2:00 it really started emptying. Took some of the energy away. Overall great night though. |
