RIP Harold Hunter 1974-2006
Legends Never Die!!

For those who don't know who Harold Hunter is, I suggest you go out to blockbuster and rent the movie KIDS. Harold is one of the true representations of the NYC Skateboard Scene. One of the sickest skateboarders out there. I don't know him personally, I've only seen him around the lower east side hangin out at skate shops and signing autographs. He will always be remembered...

See you on the other side kid!

Yup. Just saw this.

As for Kids, Blockbuster does not carry it... and I think it's a really overrated movie.

i think i'ts completely on point for new york city, lower east side, washington square park, and hiv awareness in 1995. Some of us still live in a similar setting (i for one grew up around people like that) and the lifestyle depicted pretty much summarizes the lifestyle of kids hangin in nyc.

Kids who went to school at Humanities, George Washington, LaGuardia, etc at the time (1990-1998) can relate to kids with this mentality. it was the epitome of nyc, the skaters who ruled the park, hung out at peoples cribs, partied and got messed up, all of that in 1 movie. Ok maybe some of it might be misleading, but the majority of the plot does a pretty good job depicting a certain set of friends in nyc.

Cause of Dead = Overdose

February 18, 2006 -- A skateboarder who appeared in the controversial 1995 movie "Kids" was found dead in his Lower East Side apartment yesterday of an apparent cocaine overdose, cops said.
Harold Hunter, 31, who performed stunts in Larry Clark's film about an HIV-positive skateboarder, was discovered by his brother at 4 p.m. in his East 13th Street apartment, police.

Cops said they retrieved cocaine from "on and around the body."

"He was saying stuff like, 'When I die I'm going to be famous,' " said Hunter's sister Rebecca Atkins. (you can read more if you sign up with NY post)

RIP Harold

Movie aside, if you met him you would know that all he ever wanted to do was make sure everyone around him was having a good time.

His laughter will be missed.

later man, see you in the next life.
