Ever wanted to learn how to produce professionally?
If you arent already arent released on a label,
and are one of the producers that seem to have "lots of tunes that arent finished yet"
this might be your ticket to ride..
go to http://www.redbullmusiclabs.com and apply for the Houston Red Bull Music Lab.

I encourage anyone who is interested in professionally producing dance music to at least apply to it.

In short RBML is an avenue for the bedroom DJ to get into a studio type setting, learn the Reason 3 music program and other programs and be able to create, record, complete, master and perform their own sound/track.

If you know anyone who is interested in applying, please send them to the website and/or feel free to email me [email protected] with questions.

RBML Houston has an open application phase until March 10th.

Apply here :

Good Luck

What is Red Bull Music Labs?
Red Bull Music Labs is a music production workshop designed to provide experience for those individuals who want to make and remix music. Today's music is going through a major evolution and our goal is to help you navigate through it and empower you to push the evolutionary process yourself.

Whether you like hip hop, breaks, deep house, laid back ambient or even punk, rock, or metal, we want to equip you with the skills and knowledge you need to help you manifest your musical dreams. A crucial aspect to that is the gear you use. You don't need 6 foot long mixing consoles and big, heavy machines with a million knobs that cost a lot of money and take up a lot of space.

What equipment do you need?
Each music production station used in Red Bull Music Labs consists of The Shuttle XPC Desktop that's loaded with cutting edge software and digital audio capabilities. The main focus of these workshops is to teach students to use REASON and LIVE for all their music-making needs including studio production, sound synthesis, song building, remixing, live performance, and hybrid DJing. When you add to that some bass-heavy speakers, a microphone and a keyboard with a few assignable knobs, you are ready for take off!

What does the workshop entail?
Workshops take place over the course of five days, Wednesday through Sunday. Tutorials and demonstrations take place Wednesday and Thursday evening, followed by extensive hands-on production and experimentation Friday through Sunday.

Our lab is conducted by professionals in the industry who started out much like you. They understand what it's like to have the eagerness to learn, but not have the support or means to make it happen. They figured out how to get started and now they want to deliver that knowledge to you.

There are 10 students accepted into each workshop, with three lecturers- each with different musical experiences. The small number of participants fosters a very personalized approach from the teachers and allows for individualized attention.

What is the end result?
Beyond teaching you the skills you need in order to create your own music from your computer and exposing you to the many tools you can use to do this, each participant will walk away with a newly created song.

I applied. I've already learned a bit in the audio engineering courses, but I could use some hands on with Reason 3 to see if its for me. Maybe I can tote my mc909 up there and someone can show me a thing or two, haven't had nearly the time to sit down with it.
