You burn a data DVDR and then when you go to read it, one of the folders on the DVD shows up as like a red circle with a slash through it.

You know, like a no smoking sign without the cig.

I open the folder and the stuff in it seems to be readable, but whats the deal?

DVDR's are read only once you close it out. Cant to random access like on a PC. And as for why you see the folder? I have no clue. Use a different program

I don't understand what you mean.

I burned the DVD and finalized it any everything.

Now when I put the DVD in my drive again, one of the folders of data I burned shows up as a little red cancel sign thing instead of a yellow folder.

I can click this and open it and seemingly access the data like a regular folder, but I don't know why the folder icon is a little cancel sign thing.

Maybe an issue with your burning program? Try nero. Ive never had a problem with it.

knows, but if the folder works try not to worry, worry when you get cyclic redundancy checks on dvd's you just burnt :(
